The Jordaan Wheelhouse - 2 BR - Sleeps 4

Our stay in the houseboat was very relaxing. The location was fabulous and not too far from the central train station. An interesting part of the canal for boat watching and people watching in this historical district with supermarkets and many cafes nearby. Beds were comfortable and rooms were quiet for sleeping. Outdoor seating at the front of the boat could have a little updating. Curtains that covered the entire windows on the street side would've been welcome for nighttime. Otherwise, a lovely stay...

Bed on Sustainable Boat

We spent five wonderful nights and days in a stylish, well-maintained setting in a beautiful city location. Excellent shopping and dining options are nearby. A warm welcome with small touches... (The TEXEL beer was delicious...) We'd love to come back, Elena and Uwe from Langenhagen :)

Narrow boat rentals in the UK & London

A Wide Variety of Narrowboat Options The narrowboat – or narrow boat as these vessels are originally called – are the  most typical boats in the UK. Once, they were built to transport goods through the narrow canals of the British inland waterways. The boats could not be wider then 7 foot, otherwise they would get stuck in some of the locks. By now, most of these boats are used as (semi) permanent homes or as narrowboat rentals. A lovely example of a traditional narrowboat is the ‘Stepping Stone’ in Surrey, hosted by Julie White. It’s hard to imagine that in the early days, we’re talking about the18th century, these boats were drawn by horses, guided by a crew member – often a child.
