How to get there

This ship has three homeports, contact the shipper about the location you would like to start your sailing journey. The ports are the following: Enkhuizen, Monnickendam, Makkum. Both Enkhuizen and Monnickendam can be found north of Amsterdam with quick public transport available. Makkum can be found in Friesland, the most northern Province. It’s easiest reached by car or public transport from the city Leeuwarden.

About the area

Monnickendam is an old fishing village at just 15 minutes distance from Amsterdam. It is known for the rich naval history and cozy centre. Not huge, but lots of character.

The inner-city of Enkhuizen is riddled with canals and is surrounded by settlement walls dating back to the 17th century. You can see these historic sights when you stroll through the city which has a lot of authentic buildings.

Makkum is a small town in Friesland with about 3000 residents. However it’s very popular with tourists. Makkum is well-known for her Makkumer earthwork.

The Grote of Sint-Nicolaaskerk is the most important church in the city of Monnickedam. The Gothic building can be found in the old city centre of the city. Original construction began in 1400 and was completed around 1510.
