Last on TV: Wunderschön! - West Deutsche Rundfunk
“When you enter this cozy houseboat you immediately feel at home” recommendation by VVV, first tourist office for this houseboat 2006 (now I-Amsterdam).
This hospitable and multiple awarded houseboat has been recently renovated and redecorated. The charming no-smoking B&B offers 2 cozy and colorful sleeping-/relax rooms. It has all modern facilities, comfortable double bed, special touches like flowers, quality fruit, breakfast amenities, hand-made glass mosaic in the bathroom and a personal welcoming atmosphere.
What is more, this houseboat has a lounge outside: a beautiful and spacious floating terrace surrounded by plants & reed and decorated with charming garden furniture. After a hectic day in the city centre here you can sit and relax overlooking the the tranquil water and birds of the canal.
The houseboat has a top location on the edge of the city centre in a quiet and peaceful residential area. It is moored in Old West, one of the current coolest neighborhoods in town.
You will live between the locals, all shops around the corner, including plenty of good restaurants and the new trendy cultural center "de Hallen”.
The musea and most attractions (e.g. Anne Frank, Rijks- and Van Gogh museum) are 10 - 15 minutes walk or by tram.
To ease your stay Hans will provide you with a personalized map of Amsterdam and assists for all relevant information.

Tips on 'Go where the locals go'
is a 63-years young former environmental economist who lives since 33 years on this houseboat. Because he had to stop working in his profession, he started a Bed and Breakfast on board in 2006 and got directly the Guardian Award 'One of five best' for it. Hans still feels cosmopolitan and loves to receive and meet people from all over the world.

You get what you pay forMy mum, my sister and I have just returned from a 3 night trip to Amsterdam. We had such a terrific time on Blue Wave Houseboat! The attention to detail was fantastic and the boat had everything we could possibly need. The terrace was just lovely. The host was very friendly - he sat with us for 30 mins upon our arrival showing us how everything worked and gave us lots of great tips about the city as well as leaving us a welcome breakfast. I would not hesitate to recommend this boat to anyone. It is not cheap but I’m a firm believer in ‘you get what you pay for’.

Respite on the Water
A friend and I recently stayed on the Bluewave Houseboat in Amsterdam. We couldn’t have been happier with the location, the coziness of the little home and the warmth of the hosts, Hans and Elisabeth. The added touches such as the fresh bouquet of flowers and the food in the refrigerator was much appreciated. Would stay there again!

Superb houseboat experience
I'll keep it short and simple: what's not to love about staying with Hans? Friendly, welcoming and yet you have all the privacy you want. Actually it's a place you don't want to tell too many people about just to avoid it won't be available next time ;-) We'll be back!

Beautiful houseboat and perfectly situated!!!
We really enjoyed our stay on the Blue Wave Houseboat.
This is a gorgeous place to stay and so close to the city. It had atmosphere and tranquility and still so close to the centre. Bike rental and luggage storage are real close.
We loved the sunny floating terrace and the beds were really comfortable. The fridge filled with goodies.... what more do you need!?!
Thanks to Hans & Elisabeth, for their hospitality and help. Great hosts!
We will be back for sure
