Houseboat summary

Welcome aboard. In our floating B&B you can experience living on the water. The two rooms, called Beach and Dune, have a lovely waterfront view, and we are glad to offer a part of our garden that you may call your own, overlooking the canal. The ferry is only 5 minutes away by bike and takes you into the heart of Amsterdam for free.

Houseboat description

Our B&B is very much appreciated by guests who want to discover the wonderful city of Amsterdam, yet enjoy the tranquility of our neighborhood. No tourist masses, but only an occasional water bird passing by. Therefore you are assured to have a great night rest during your stay.

About the bedrooms

Each bedroom has a private en-suite bathroom with a toilet, sink, and shower. You will have your own entry as well, so your privacy is ensured. The large windows let in lots of light, creating a very nice, light and bright atmosphere.

Our houseboat, a modern barge, is located on a quiet canal in Amsterdam. The swans, geese, and ducks swimming by will bring you in a good mood for sure, as well as the reflection of the water on your bedroom ceiling. It's just something that no hotel room can match.

Enjoy the garden

If you just want to take it easy, you will enjoy our garden with roofed terrace for sure. Sit back and relax in the lounge corner, go swimming or canoeing in the canal or light up a BBQ!

Breakfast included

The breakfast is DIY-style, served in the common pantry and to be enjoyed in your own room or the garden. This is included in the price and has a nice Dutch touch to it with cheese, meats and fresh fruit.

Enjoy nature

We rent out two sturdy city bikes, so you can get around easily. Of course, you will visit the city center, but be aware that there is lots of nature to enjoy literally around the corner. The Twiske, Waterland and the Zaanse Schans are popular destinations to enjoy the Dutch countryside. If you are traveling by car, we're pleased to say that you can park your car right in front of the door - quite exceptional in Amsterdam!

Couples and families welcome

We warmly welcome families up to four persons and couples traveling together. As we live on the same boat and we love to keep a good relationship with our neighbors, we want to let you know that we're not a party place. Otherwise, we love to have you aboard and share the wonderful experience of living on the water!

PS one last thing: We are non-smokers and we find it hard to accomodate heavy smokers in and around our house. So if you want to smoke a lot, please find somewhere else to stay.  Thanks for understanding!

Beautiful neighbourhood and very helpful host

Elise is an extremely warm and kind host and made our stay comfortable at the property. The property is just on the canal and makes for amazing views. Rooms are a tiny bit small but since we weren’t in the room much, this was not a big deal. Would recommend!

    Out stay in Amsterdam

The houseboat was lovely! The beds were comfortable and you couldn’t beat the view. I loved being in such a quiet area. We did end up having to Uber to our destinations which definitely added up. The biking was not feasible for us as we don’t do it on the norm, and nothing seemed to be close by like it was when we stayed a few nights near Amsterdam Central Station. Overall would recommend, it felt great to slow our vacation down a bit as it is hustle and bustle in the city!

The 4 nights on the houseboat were wonderful. Outside, under the pergola, we were able to have a leisurely breakfast and end the evening. The area is very quiet. The hosts very nice and accommodating. Everything well prepared. The rooms are bright and clean, furnished with love. Always my pleasure.

Great houseboat in a paradisiacal location Show original

We loved the quiet location and great views of the canal. You can walk to the ferry in 20 minutes, which takes you to the center for free (15 minutes drive) or you can take the bus (stop 2 minutes) and the metro. Elise is a very personable hostess. She always bought enough breakfast for self-service. We were allowed to use a pedal boat at the house boat at any time free of charge. The rooms are small but fine. It is a quiet area and you can still get to the center relatively quickly. We felt very comfortable and would come back anytime!
