Houseboat description

Our location
The houseboat is located in a quiet side channel of the IJ and is moored on a quiet dike with many other houseboats. On the other side of the dike is the Wilmkebreekpolder, a unique piece of nature in the middle of Amsterdam. The free NDSM wharf ferry is a 25-minute walk away or 5 minutes by bike. This will take you directly to the central station. Public transport is a 15 minute walk and in 25 minutes you are in the heart of the city.

If you want to explore the typical Dutch landscape with the vast green fields and charming waterways, our houseboat is also a perfect choice for you. It is nice to explore the small villages in the area by bike. The Zaanse Schans, world heritage site with its iconic windmills, is also within easy reach.

Good night
Our guests appreciate our place because we are not far from the center, but are not bothered by noisy tourist crowds in our neighborhood. This ensures a wonderful night's sleep in the comfortable double bed. During your stay you will certainly enjoy the aquatic life like a 'local'.

Room
After coming back from the city you can either chill in your room or enjoy our garden. Through a sliding door in your room it is also possible to sit on our floating terrace. You can also use our pedal boat to explore the canal. In the summer months you can swim in the canal, as many locals do. Of course we offer all the luxuries you would expect from a comfortable room: underfloor heating, fast WiFi, television / radio and a private entrance.

Breakfast is included in the price and served in your DIY (Do It Yourself) style room for you to enjoy at your own time.

Free parking
Yes, it is quite exceptional in Amsterdam, but parking on our dike is free!

Neighbourhood
We have a good relationship with our neighbors and would like to keep it that way. That is why we ask you to cooperate in this. The stay in our B&B is a party, but we are not a party location. So no loud music or discussions in our garden.

If you come by car on the A10, take exit S117 (kadoelen). At the intersection turn left and at the end of this road turn right.

Jan just has his daily work and I, Roelie, do most of the work in the B&B. I have always worked as a beautician and pedicure, recently stopped doing that and now do the B&B.

    We spent 6 nights here and enjoyed it. Very nice hosts. Breakfast was always stored in the fridge for 2 days. Since we had great weather, we were able to sit on the terrace with a view of the water. It's a leisurely 15-minute bike ride to the F4 ferry, which takes you to the central station. Amsterdam is simply a great city. Don't forget to visit the old NDSM shipyard.

    Beautiful peaceful houseboat

    What an amazing time we had, just so peaceful and well-equipped houseboat. We rented bikes from the owners, who were just so friendly and helpful. It’s a 10 min bike ride to the free 24-hour ferry to get to the central station, which we took full advantage of to explore Amsterdam. The lovely DIY breakfast was such a good idea and quality ingredients, which allowed us to have a few lazy mornings. Thank you so much, 5 stars xxx Paul & Meika

    We spent 4 pleasant nights in this houseboat, Roelie and Jan are very available and friendly. Coming by car, we really appreciated the parking space, and the possibility of renting bicycles on site to quickly get to the center of Amsterdam by ferry. Only regret: it was not warm enough in April to swim in the canal...
