How to get there

It's a 10-15 minute walk from the train station, Amsterdam Central Station, to the houseboat. Or a 5-min trip via the metro from Amsterdam CS.

About the area

The Raamgracht is located in the middle of the historic heart of Amsterdam, once part of the broadcloth industry. It is a small, quiet canal in a residential area. But there are 2 supermarkets, lots of cafes, bars and restaurants located in the immediate neighbourhood. It is close to a number of museums, and the Dam is about 10 minutes walk away.

    Location, Location, Location!

I cannot describe what an amazing place this is to stay! We wanted to be central to Amsterdam but also wanted to be out of the night-time noise, which is a big ask.... but with this beautiful houseboat we found it! 😁 Central Station is a 15 minute walk away, multiple shops, restaurants and supermarkets are within a 5 min walk and you are also within a 2 min walk of a lovely local coffee shop. So let's talk about the accommodation... the houseboat is located in a quiet street and your main neighbours are swans and ducks that visit several times daily. The hosts even have a full bread basket so you can feed them. The lounge area is spacious and very light and airy, this has a massive sofa bed which is really comfortable to sleep on. There is a double bedroom which has plenty of hanging space and cupboards for clothes. The bathroom has a bath, shower and toilet and is a very decent size. Each room has its own temperature monitor so you can set areas to a certain heat and this works really well and keeps the place toasty warm. The hosts were so helpful, kept up brilliant communication and were there to greet us when we arrived nearly 12 hours late. I cannot recommend the hosts and the accommodation highly enough and will absolutely will be visiting again. A++++++

    Lovely Haven

My friend and I needed a private place to rest after a stressful life/work event. This place met all of our needs, it was comfortable, had everything we needed, clean, accommodating, quiet, and quite charming! Jennie was kind and flexible and available for anything we needed. I would highly recommend staying here!

    What a wonderful place

We stayed over a weekend in Amsterdam. Couldn't believe how central is it (2 minutes to Rembrandt house, 15 minutes to Museum square). Very quite and felt very safe. Everything on the boat was perfect. Everything you'd need. And feeding the ducks every morning was an added treat. Highly recommend staying here, we certainly will again.

Quiet but perfect location, fantastic space.

Having visited Amsterdam for nearly 30 years and stayed in many houseboats around the city, I can honestly say that the Oasis is, as the name implies, the perfect spot. Nestled on the quiet yet central Raamgracht, narrow enough for only the smallest of tour boats to pass your window as you feed the ducks, the location is convenient for almost everything. 2 minutes from Waterlooplein Market and Metro, 3 from a tram stop and Albert Heijn, 5 from the two main Red Light District canals' bars, restaurants etc. Easy bike parking on the bridge or nearby stands. The houseboat itself is the perfect size for a couple and probably one more, though I didn't utilise the sofabed (this time!). Spacious lounge/kitchen, full bath in a really decent sized bathroom for a houseboat, nice big windows for the views but also great blinds for privacy when required. Jennie the host could not have been more accommodating, she was able to organise someone to take my luggage earlier in the day before check-in which was a great help as I had to checkout of my other hotel. She also kindly posted a souvenir t-shirt I had left behind back to the UK, going above and beyond the call of duty. I cannot recommend the Oasis enough for location, facilities and fair pricing and hope to return there soon.

    Great place!

Check in was extremely easy and we were welcomed by the host and she couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. Definitely as the pictures show, spacious, clean and well presented. There was a basket of bread left for us to feed the ducks and swans who came to visit everyday which was a lovely touch. We were also provided with a book of advice and detailed information containing appliance instructions, recommendations of places to go in the area, and sightseeing. I stayed in an apartment on the same street last year and this is by far the better place to stay out of the two. However the overall location is great, pretty much in the centre but on a quieter street. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anybody planning a city break to Amsterdam. Thank you so much for letting us stay on the boat for our long weekend!
