Live like a local
This houseboat is perfect for singles or a couple. There is a fold-out sofa bed in the lounge room for 2 extra guests (conditions apply). The houseboat is situated on the beautiful Raamgracht, a quiet location in the centre of this hectic city.
This one bedroom, 44-square-metre houseboat is furnished for a comfortable stay. There is a lounge room, fully equipped open-plan kitchen, and a separate bedroom with double bed. The bathroom has a bath and shower. And of course there is a flat-screen TV, stereo, Wi-Fi, central heating, a Nespresso machine, dishwasher etc.
The Raamgracht, near the Nieuwmarkt, is in the heart of Amsterdam. Everything is literally within walking distance! The Stopera, the Hermitage, Rembrandt House, 2 supermarkets, shops, cafes and restaurants are in the direct neighbourhood. China Town is about five minutes walk with a variety of Asian restaurants and take-aways. The Rijksmuseum, the Stedelijk, and the Van Gogh museum are about 1 km away.
The Raamgracht is an attractive, quiet oasis in the centre of this busy thriving city. There is little traffic, just boats, bikes and the occasional swan that pass by. The metro station is just around the corner, making it easy to transfer from and to the airport via Central Station.
How to get there
It's a 10-15 minute walk from the train station, Amsterdam Central Station, to the houseboat. Or a 5-min trip via the metro from Amsterdam CS.
About the area
The Raamgracht is located in the middle of the historic heart of Amsterdam, once part of the broadcloth industry. It is a small, quiet canal in a residential area. But there are 2 supermarkets, lots of cafes, bars and restaurants located in the immediate neighbourhood. It is close to a number of museums, and the Dam is about 10 minutes walk away.
Originally from Australia, I am a glass artist, and I have been living in Amsterdam for over 30 years.

My friend and I needed a private place to rest after a stressful life/work event. This place met all of our needs, it was comfortable, had everything we needed, clean, accommodating, quiet, and quite charming! Jennie was kind and flexible and available for anything we needed. I would highly recommend staying here!

From the moment I contacted Jenny she replied, she answered all my questions and was very helpful. We were late meeting her at the houseboat but she was lovely and stayed to chat with us. The boat is lovely, warm and spacious for two people. Everything you need is there, and the location was perfect as we didn’t want to stay too central. The area is very peaceful and the walk into the centre is lovely. Due to a bad storm we had to stay an extra night and Jenny was very accommodating. We had visits from the ducks and swans throughout our stay, and Jenny provides a bread basket to feed the ducks, I am ashamed to say that we probably over fed them but they were very cute and we gave them all names. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Jenny or her lovely houseboat, we had a perfect stay and will definitely go back again. Thank you Jenny, you made our girly weekend a fabulous stay. Your houseboat is fabulous! Steph & Laura Jersey

Check in was extremely easy and we were welcomed by the host and she couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. Definitely as the pictures show, spacious, clean and well presented. There was a basket of bread left for us to feed the ducks and swans who came to visit everyday which was a lovely touch. We were also provided with a book of advice and detailed information containing appliance instructions, recommendations of places to go in the area, and sightseeing. I stayed in an apartment on the same street last year and this is by far the better place to stay out of the two. However the overall location is great, pretty much in the centre but on a quieter street. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anybody planning a city break to Amsterdam. Thank you so much for letting us stay on the boat for our long weekend!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay on the Oasis Houseboat. The location is perfect, you are right in the middle of the city, yet on the boat it is very calm. We also had a lot of fun feeding the ducks. Jennie is just a very kind and nice person and made us really feel welcome. Would recommend 100 percent!!

Incredible experience - will return!
What a lovely host! Jennie was so wonderful and helpful! We were absolutely thrilled, after a long holiday in small hotel rooms and uncomfortable beds; we ended our trip with almost a week in Jennie's houseboat. What a dream! We're hoping we can stay here again on our next return. The houseboat is more than just comfortable, it's convenient and perfectly located, warm and inviting. Has everything you need and close to everything else including laundromats. You're visited by the swans, geese and ducks and serenaded by the church bells. The bed is extremely comfortable, with extra bedding if needed. Well stocked and coffee machine included! yahoo! Thank you so much Jennie, thank goodness we found this houseboat! You won't be disappointed!
