Houseboat summary
She is built in 1913, but still this floating beauty is as charming as ever before. The location is stunning, right at the beginning of the Amstel River and close to most main attractions. With two bedrooms the Art Deco Houseboat is well suited to accommodate four persons. Four persons who will feel privileged to enjoy both the distinctive interior as well as the outside deck with great views over the water.
Houseboat description
The ship was originally built as a freight carrier, well over a century ago. Now her working days are over, and she enjoys welcoming guests aboard from all over the world. After a proper renovation by your host, better known as Captain Rob, the ship was transformed into a unique floating B&B.
Guests appreciate the boat for the many nautical details all through the place. The many mahogany walls, classic furniture and lots of charming decorations contribute to a very special atmosphere.
Two large windows in the ceiling and lots of portholes let in the daylight, as well as the windows in the open kitchen. Here you will find everything to make a great meal and have a great breakfast or lunch at the large kitchen table.
The living room is very 'homey' with a comfortable couch to snuggle up to your beloved ones and have a break from the many impressions you will get in town. A great place to chill out!
The bedrooms are most likely the most characteristic you will ever sleep. The wooden walls and ceiling create a very cosy and atmosphere - you will sleep like a true captain!
And last but not least: the location. The location! Right in the middle of town, close to the famous Waterloo Square, Flower Market, Dam Square, Central Station and many, many other amazing things to do and see.
Smoking is only allowed in the Wheelhouse. It might be good to know that it is a 'real' ship', so the doorways, corridors and stairs might be a bit smaller then in a regular. We call it part of the charm ;-)
Let me know if you have any questions - always glad to help and I look forward to welcome you aboard!
Rob

How to get there
From Central Station you take tram 9 to Rembrand Square. This is a 5-minute ride and from there it is a two minute walk.
There are various options to park your car. There is a P+R at 20 minutes distance, from where you can get back by metro. Also there is a paid parking called Oosterdok next to central station for reasonable prices (20 euro/24 hour. This is much cheaper than parking on the street, which is at least 5 euro/hour)
About the area
You will be staying as much in the city centre as it gets. There's many bars, restaurants and clubs within a stone's throw distance. You might notice this during the weekends, but during weekday nights, it is surprisingly quiet at night.
