We warmly welcome you aboard on the boathouse next to our houseboat. This charming cabin offers a unique warm and cozy atmosphere for couples who are happy to go off the beaten paths. You have all the privacy of the world and will feel at home as soon as you set foot on board!

Houseboat description

You will enter the Lior via a hardwood boardwalk over the water, giving a great view over the water. During the winter months, when leaves have fallen of the big tree next to the boathouse, you can see the famous mill and Brewery 't IJ that are located just a minute away. U truly unique view right from your front door!

Once you are inside, a warm atmosphere embraces you, thanks to the use of natural materials. The wooden floor and cabinets made of floor panels really add something to your stay. The bathroom offers a toilet, sink and a large shower for your convenience. Furthermore there is a airconditioning for the warmer summer days to ensure cool nights. During the cold winter days you are assure to be comfortably warm thanks to the electric heater.

In the kitchen area you will find a fridge, Nespresso coffee maker, cooker and a microwave for your convenience. Note that we do not offer cooking facilities but who wants too cook during a holiday when you have an abundance of great restaurants and bars within walking distance? We assure a great night rest, not only thanks to the high-quality double bed, but also because the boathouse is located on a surprisingly quiet canal.

About the area: know that the Eastern part of Amsterdam is one of the fastest upcoming and buzzing parts with loads of things to do and see. The famous Dappermarkt is around the corner, as well as the city Zoo Artis and the multicultural Javastraat with its many unique places to eat and drink. Fancy going downtown? Just hop on one of the many trams that pass our street and you will be wherever you want in no time.

I hope to have given you the best possible impression of what you may expect, but don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions. Always glad to help!

Our studio on the waterfront used to be my soundstudio. Some years ago we grew out of this and we decided to alter the place for B&B purpose.
This worked out very well. It's a great joy to receive guests, make them feel at home and offer them a comfortable and nice holiday.

    Tranquil home from home

    Robs houseboat was absolutely fantastic.

Everything you'd need for a stay in Amsterdam, bed, small kitchen, fridge for breakfasts and goodies, bathroom with shower.

When we first arrived we were given a quick tour, given info about transport in the area, overview of the facilites and more importantly- the wifi password!

Within a few minutes walk of several cafes, bars, supermarkets and an old school windmill. Lovely quiet area, bars etc die down by about 11 but you dont notice if the window and door are closed! In one of Amsterdams hottest weeks since the 70's we were glad for the air con! Comfy bed, tables and chairs inside and out, its nice to just sit with a provided tea on the canal "balcony" enjoying the wildlife and passing boats. We will definitely stay again and would recommend to anyone looking for something off the beaten track!

    Excellent Experience

We’ve spent 4 days in this lovely houseboat that is located within 35 minutes from the city center and 7-10 minutes from the nearest bus stop/tramline. It is a quiet neighborhood and if you don’t like the hustle and bustle of the city center area it’s a perfect place to stay. Rob is very friendly and ready to help almost immediately if you have any questions or requests.  We will certainly recommend staying in this houseboat to our friends.
