Houseboat description

You will enter the Lior via a hardwood boardwalk over the water, giving a great view over the water. During the winter months, when leaves have fallen of the big tree next to the boathouse, you can see the famous mill and Brewery 't IJ that are located just a minute away. U truly unique view right from your front door!

Once you are inside, a warm atmosphere embraces you, thanks to the use of natural materials. The wooden floor and cabinets made of floor panels really add something to your stay. The bathroom offers a toilet, sink and a large shower for your convenience. Furthermore there is a airconditioning for the warmer summer days to ensure cool nights. During the cold winter days you are assure to be comfortably warm thanks to the electric heater.

In the kitchen area you will find a fridge, Nespresso coffee maker, cooker and a microwave for your convenience. Note that we do not offer cooking facilities but who wants too cook during a holiday when you have an abundance of great restaurants and bars within walking distance? We assure a great night rest, not only thanks to the high-quality double bed, but also because the boathouse is located on a surprisingly quiet canal.

About the area: know that the Eastern part of Amsterdam is one of the fastest upcoming and buzzing parts with loads of things to do and see. The famous Dappermarkt is around the corner, as well as the city Zoo Artis and the multicultural Javastraat with its many unique places to eat and drink. Fancy going downtown? Just hop on one of the many trams that pass our street and you will be wherever you want in no time.

I hope to have given you the best possible impression of what you may expect, but don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions. Always glad to help!

Houseboat owner

Our studio on the waterfront used to be my soundstudio. Some years ago we grew out of this and we decided to alter the place for B&B purpose.
This worked out very well. It's a great joy to receive guests, make them feel at home and offer them a comfortable and nice holiday.

    Good Location

The studio was very clean and set up as expected in the photos. Very good location with several bars nearby and easy to get into the centre by tram, stop just a few minutes away.

Slightly disappointed with not facing canal, side view only and very small decking area. In previous places we have stayed there have been information leaflets available, which would have been helpful as this was our first time in Amsterdam. Some milk in the fridge on arrival would also have been most welcome just to make tea or coffee. Overall though a good week, thank you Rob for organising a taxi for the airport for us.

We would stay there again... For sure.

    Amazing stay

We've appreciated this way of life on an houseboat. The owner is a kind man and his houseboat is located well along the Canal and closed to very nice bars. It was a fantastic experience.

    Excellent Experience

We’ve spent 4 days in this lovely houseboat that is located within 35 minutes from the city center and 7-10 minutes from the nearest bus stop/tramline. It is a quiet neighborhood and if you don’t like the hustle and bustle of the city center area it’s a perfect place to stay. Rob is very friendly and ready to help almost immediately if you have any questions or requests.  We will certainly recommend staying in this houseboat to our friends.

So lucky to have stayed here

We have been so fortunate to stay here as the first guests. Rob is a great host and his boathouse is truly adorable. As soon as we opened the door, we could see the great windmill and within a minute walking we were drinking the great local beers of brewery The IJ. It is a great place to stay as a couple, a real love nest ;-)

    Tranquil home from home

    Robs houseboat was absolutely fantastic.

Everything you'd need for a stay in Amsterdam, bed, small kitchen, fridge for breakfasts and goodies, bathroom with shower.

When we first arrived we were given a quick tour, given info about transport in the area, overview of the facilites and more importantly- the wifi password!

Within a few minutes walk of several cafes, bars, supermarkets and an old school windmill. Lovely quiet area, bars etc die down by about 11 but you dont notice if the window and door are closed! In one of Amsterdams hottest weeks since the 70's we were glad for the air con! Comfy bed, tables and chairs inside and out, its nice to just sit with a provided tea on the canal "balcony" enjoying the wildlife and passing boats. We will definitely stay again and would recommend to anyone looking for something off the beaten track!

    Robs houseboat

We’d highly recommend a stay at this cosy houseboat- conveniently located on the fringe of the centre and the eastern sits beside a beautiful towering windmill and is well served by bus and tram. The owner Rob is friendly unobtrusive and laid back. The surrounding area is full of interest  and culture. We ll be returning on our next visit to Amsterdam.
