Houseboat summary

This private and recently renovated studio is located next to our houseboat and has a charming terrace right at the waterside. It is fully detached and will feel like a home away from home right away. And the location? Just perfect! You will be staying close to the famous Windmill with the Amsterdam Brewery 'Het IJ' in it, just minutes away from Artis Zoo, and many great bars and restaurants at walking distance. Yes, you will feel like a local for sure!

Houseboat description

The self catering studio is 25 sqm and has a private entrance, ensuring all the privacy you possibly want. We have recently renovated the place, keeping in mind that we wanted a light and bright place at the water for our guests. The wooden floor panels add to this cozy atmosphere. Furthermore we offer a small but complete kitchenette*, luxurious shower cabin, toilet, 2-seat dining table and a flatscreen tv. We also have central heating in the studio, making sure a very comfortable climate all year round - even on the coldest winter days.

Another great plus is the water side terrace, a fantastic place to start your day with breakfast and feed the ducks, swans and geese. Although our studio is technically not a houseboat (it is built on poles, so not actually floating) you will have a true 'nautical feeling' when staying here. Also, be assured to have a good night rest thanks to the high quality double bed, and the fact that our place is located away from the noisy tourist masses.

Many previous guests have let us know to particularly like the location of our place: buzzing Amsterdam East. You will find a wide variety of great restaurants and pubs. One of the most popular is without a doubt the bar/brewery ''t IJ' that is located in the majestic windmill on the other side of our canal. Furthermore we have the city zoo Artis around the corner, as well as the daily market 'Dappermarkt' (officially declared as the best market in the Netherlands). Thanks to the great public transport connections, you can easily reach any other side of town within 30 minutes. The Dam Square, Waterloo Square and Museum Square are all within 10 - 20 minutes range, either by bike or public transport.

On request we can arrange breakfast and bike rentals.

We hope to have given you the best possible impression, but don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions. Look forward to welcome you aboard!

*The kitchenette is equipped with a small oven, double cooking plate, fridge, juice press, Nespresso coffee maker, toaster, cooker, pans, plates, cups, glasses and cutlery.

Our studio on the waterfront used to be my soundstudio. Some years ago we grew out of this and we decided to alter the place for B&B purpose.
This worked out very well. It's a great joy to receive guests, make them feel at home and offer them a comfortable and nice holiday.

7 Reviews - Boathouse Studio with waterfront terrace

Great boathouse - everything you need!

We loved being at Rob's boat house. They live in the house next door, from the house you can not see the canal, but if you have a window where you can see a little. We did not meet Rob, but he handed us the keys to Galith his wife who is lovely. The apartment has everything, even if it is quite small. It is about 30 minutes walking from the center but there is a tram at 100 meters and at 250 meters there is the bus, which both take you to the center.
Without a doubt, we would go back to spend a vacation at Rob and Galith's house.

Charming houseboat, great host, perfect Amsterdam experience

Something different... very nice on the canal ... in the morning you can enjoy the sun with the first coffee on the small terrace of the houseboat. What a great start of the the day!
It was really nice... everything worked out perfectly. Communication with Rob was easy and the welcome at the key handover was very sympathetic and warm.
Ideal for a stay for a long weekend or a little longer ;-)
If you want to have a quiet and relaxed evening in the evening after a long day in Amsterdam's inner city hustle and bustle, this is the place for you ...
    Can I absolutely recommend it!

    Quite and accessible

A lovley spot to stay. Just a quick tram from dam square and close to all major routes. A clean and peaceful stay. Would recommend it for people who want to see more of the city.

    Lovely houseboat

We had a wonderful time. There was tea and coffee and lots of little amenities like toilet paper or spices in the kitchen. Value for money is outstanding and the location really is brilliant. It was great sitting outside on the little terrace. Across the street it is quiet, industrial and they do start at 9, but that is city life. :)
