Houseboat summary

This is the perfect houseboat for those who want it all: a floating studio close to the buzzing city centre and a great night sleep without masses of noisy tourists passing by. The cozy compact studio, with a private entrance and bathroom, offers great views over the water, ensuring an unforgettable houseboat experience in Amsterdam.

Houseboat description

The studio has a large window, an amazing place to just sit back and relax. Watch the swans, geese and ducks swim by while having breakfast. What a way to start another exciting day in Amsterdam with your beloved one. But before you leave, just enjoy the reflections of the water surface dancing on the ceiling a bit longer. You won't have this back at home after all...

We recommend this place especially to couples who want to have a special experience on a great location. Enter the studio and you will find everything that makes your stay into an unforgettable experience. We have recently made some great improvements, such as a private entrance, nice wooden floor and a modern private bathroom with rain shower and toilet.

The studio, one of two aboard of this houseboat, offers a comfortable double bed, basic cooking facilities, a desk/table in front of the wide window, a microwave, a minibar fridge and free wifi. And just a few steps outside of the boat you will find so much more that contribute to a great stay. Just around the corner there are countless restaurants and bars, independents shops  and various famous markets. Want to see the rest of the town? Just hop on one of the many bus or tram connections and you get anywhere within 15 to 30 minutes driving, depending what part of Amsterdam you want to visit.

If there is anything you want to know, just contact us and we will share our knowledge of this great part of Amsterdam with you!

Warm Regards,

Dorien

Great little studio - perfectly located

its small but it is really cozy, clean, well appointed and within easy walking of all the major tourist sights. And don’t forget the relaxation of feeding the ducks right out of the windows!

    Cozy

Wonderful quiet location, charming waterfowl come right up to your windows. Incredibly comfortable bed. Nearby public transit makes getting around easy. The shower though is crazy small and soaks the bathroom floor.

    Fantastic is little said :)

Even I do not know with what to start, but absolutely everything was just perfect. It's an amazing place to stay, especially for couples. Very clean, quiet, close to center... and I found inside things that even in 5-star hotels you won't find it. The owners left for us a basket with absolutely everything you need: shampoo, shower gel, nail polish remover, make up remover, deodorant, toothpaste, shaving gel, and even razors. I and my husband were to the maximum impressed. There we found also umbrellas in case of rain. No worries if you need to iron something. There you can find everything you need.

But first of all, it was so relaxing to stay in that small living room ... in the morning to drink the coffee or in the evening with a glass of wine....no words to describe...

We would definitely recommend and we would like to stay in the same place when we will visit Amsterdam again.

    Thank you so much!

Nice and cosy place to stay

We just stayed two days at Emma's and Billy's houseboat, but it was exactly as seen on the photos. It was really nice and cosy.

    the perfect fit

We had a wonderful time at Studio 1. We can only recommend every couple to book this studio, who like to look at the canal while cooking, eating and to cuddle on the little sofas. A highlight are the ducks and the swan, who passing by and watching you cook. We had everything we needed and loved every inch of the apartment. We were positively surprised about the provisioned cosmetic articles like Pads, Shampoo, etc. The Houseboat lies near at the Centrum and we could easily reach to foot the AnneFrankHouse and the central station with the bus.For us it was the perfect accommodation we could image at Amsterdam. Have a nice Stay!

staying at a houseboat is fascinating

We had a wonderful time in Amsterdam. It is very great to stay at the houseboat. The place is small, nice, old fashioned and very cozy. It is very good situated outside of the busy City centre, in an interesting area.

    Cozy stay.

We enjoyed staying on the houseboat. The only thing we weren't prepared for was how much we could hear the neighbors when they came home, especially after we finally fell asleep after a long international flight. Despite that we still enjoyed the experience of it. Sorry we didn't meet Emma. Thank you, Michele.

No hotel can compare with that

+++ Looking through the big windows to the water is so beautiful and special. We stayed some evenings in the boat instead of going to the town just to enjoy it. No hotel could compare with that. The connection to the city central is very good (just 4 stations with the bus which starts near by) and there is a supermarket near by.

    - A little more room for the clothes would have been nice.

    Great stay!

We've had a great time on the houseboot. It is small but really cozy! The location is also great to explore the city. 15 minutes walk to the city center and 5 minutes walk to small streets with nice restaurants.

    Thank you!

    Great Stay!

Me and my wife stayed here for a few nights of our European honeymoon. It was a perfect cozy houseboat room on the canal. The room was updated and the space worked perfectly for us. It was our favorite spot to stay on our entire trip. Would highly recommend. Great location, easy to get around.

    Genialer Urlaub!

    Lovely place, wonderful stay

We enjoyed our stay in the cozy houseboat very much. Loved all the ducks coming by and the daily view over the water, just wonderful. Located in a "non-party" area, close to the Jordaan, just perfect. We'll come back!

    Beautiful house boat great location

Waking up on water really adds to your stay in Amsterdam. Our check in was made super easy and Emma was always on hand if we had any questions. Perfect area of Amsterdam, not too close in but easy to walk around. Great size for a couple, I would definitely recommend this stay!

    Perfectly situated houseboat in Amsterdam

This property is perfectly situated near to many of the attractions and restaurants but just far enough from the centre that it is very peaceful in the evenings.

    Ducky Houseboat

We enjoyed our stay in the cozy floating studio.  The location is ideal....walking distance to everything and the great Jordaan district. Feeding the ducks is a real  highlight.    The houseboat could be spiffied up a bit.  There's lots of trash in the canal in the entrance and the exteriorr looks rundown.  The walls inside are stained and could use fresh paint.  It's impossible to keep the bathroom dry when taking a shower.  The rubber strip provided doesn't do the trick.  That said , the house boat gave us the local experience we desired.

    Cozy and in quiet

We stayed for a weekend in Amsterdam and wanted to stay over somewhere special. The houseboat was perfect for us! It layed in between all the spots we wanted to see and was easy to get to.

Everything was perfectly clean and there was even a basket with bathroom stuff such as deodorant, lotion, bodywash, a hairdryer and so on. We didn‘t need the little kitchen area, but it looked like everything you could need was on board. We loved it and would rent it again!

    Great space and location

The space was perfect for two people.  We didn't spend much time in the room, but it has everything you need to get ready in the morning, including coffee ;-) There is some space to sit and watch the ducks and swan in the morning, or to climb in the cozy nook and have a beer or a glass of wine.  The boat is super close to a tram/bus stop - very convenient. It was very clean and Michelle and Emma were accessible for questions and suggestions on where to eat.

    Amsterdam via Boat

We both truly loved staying two nights in this beautiful houseboat. I myself had been to Amsterdam many of times but my fiancée never had. Staying in a house boat has always been a bucket list item. The location was perfect, small walk through the beautiful area of Jordaan. The activity on the canal was very quiet through out the evening. The room itself was very humble and perfect for the two of us. When we go back again I will look into staying here again.

    Long WE in Amsterdam

Nice houseboat, with everything you need in the room ; basket with beauty products, hairdryer... ; many equipments (for ironing, cooking, coffee machine...). Bathroom is a bit tiny, but all new and working well. Communication with host was smooth, and she was very kind. Would recommend!

    Comfortable, cozy houseboat

booked this houseboat for my girlfriends birthday and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We looked around the lovely city of Amsterdam by walking and boat. Would recommend this houseboat it’s in a nice location and close to the bus stop where you can get to the centre easily, otherwise its a short walk.

Some little things to mention about our stay; i would go a bit later than 12 o clock check-in because it wasn’t ready for us at 12.20 even though we were told we could come, we would have rather been told 12.30 and stayed in town.

The windows could do with latches as the sun got it quite hot but you can’t open the windows a bit without them swinging open allowing birds to try and jump in (maybe our fault for feeding them).

All in all we still had a wonderful time, Michelle was a fantastic host and would definitely stay again!
