Not a real houseboat, but close enough. Built on poles above water, next to our houseboat, we offer a stylish studio with a luxury bathroom and outdoorkitchen. The place is connected to a big outside shared garden room with fireplace. Free access to the garden and waterfront where you can swim and relax. The room is not in our houseboat, but you have a good connection with the water.
When we saw our houseboat for the first time, it was love at first sight. And we feel very lucky to live here, and have a holiday feeling every day. We love to share our studio, next to our houseboat on the main land. So please note that this is not a houseboat!
What we have to offer is a place in the city and still enjoy the outdoors. Our houseboat lies in upcoming and 'hot' Amsterdam North, close to the NDSM shipyard. The loft is situated next to our houseboat in our garden area. You will have full access to the whole shared area including waterfront. During thesummer you can enjoy the sun in our garden or terrace on the water and even swim. But also in the other seasons it is wonderful to just watch over the water. And of course it is always simply wonderful to just watch over the water. Please feel very welcome!
Our district is popular for the many cultural activities on the old NDSM-Park (within walking distance). The dynamic centre of Amsterdam is only 20 minutes away; take the bike and free ferry and you are there. You also have the option of a 12-minute walk to the ferry or take the bus (10 minutes drive). If you want to go cycling, take a ride through the beautiful city and/or go to the countryside. It only takes 10 minutes and you are in the countryside. You can even visit Volendam, Edam and Durgerdam. And another great thing: you can park your car for free. There is always parking space available in the neighborhood. Amsterdam Centre has many restaurants, bars and clubs. But also in Amsterdam North are many good restaurants within walking distance. We know them all, so feel free to ask for information.

The ferries to Central Station are free. There are night buses. In summer there is a night ferry from Central Station to NDSM on Fridays and Saturdays. On the bike to Central Station is about 15 min. Walking and Ferry ca. 20 min to Central Station We want to share with our guests, that what we enjoy every day. And you can also book a boat trip with Gerard in his own boat. About the area
A hearty welcome to Amsterdam, our capital and largest city and the financial and cultural centre of The Netherlands. Amsterdam has almost two million visitors a year and with reason! Amsterdam has so much to offer. There are the canals, full of character in every kind of weather. You can take a canal cruise boat and view the seventeenth century houses from the water, or just take a walk.
Then there are the museums. Amsterdam is the place to be for Rembrandts, Van Goghs and modern art. The theatres present shows mainly in Dutch off course, but opera and ballet are universal languages. The Spiegel- kwartier and P.C. Hooftstraat are rich shopping grounds for fashion, jewellery and antiques.
When it comes to food and drink, Amsterdam offers the wide range you would expect of a big city: from little fast food stalls to Michelin-star gourmet restaurants and bars and nightclubs in all sorts and sizes. Whatever your liking, Amsterdam is an exciting city for everyone. We give you some handy facts, figures and customs to make you enjoy your stay even more.
Hello, we are Joke and Gerard. Both 50+
Since 2005 we live on this houseboat and it's fantastic.
The great feeling of freedom and luxury of living on the water is tue gift every day.
And this feeling we love to give to our guests and let them experience the same.
Joke works for KLM at schiphol, Amsterdam airport.
Gerard works in sales.
We both enjoy life to its utmost, travelling and socializing with friends.
Joke loves cooking, gardening, swimming.
Gerard loves music and being on his boat floating through the canals of Amsterdam.
We hope to meet you as our guest and give you what we enjoy every day living on this unique spot in Amsterdam Noord.

Very nice Place!
Ibiza Style Waterview is a very charming and beautiful place, near to the Central City of Amsterdam.
We loved to sit near the water and see the other houseboats. The atmosphere was special.
With Joke and Gerard, it was easy to have communication. They are generous and friendly people. Thanks, Susanne

Highly recommended! Show originalShow original
We were guests in this small, lovingly furnished accommodation for three days. Everything was there that you needed, including your own cooking facilities and your own bathroom. We really enjoyed our stay with Gerard and his wife.

Staying on the water in Amsterdam
We could not have picked a better place than this wonderful loft, built on stilts. Joke and Gerard are the most friendly hosts and they put a lot of love in their cute little holiday home above the water. Very clean, lots of character and when weather permits you have the most wonderful outside area possible. Highly recommended!

We really enjoyed staying in the loft with the wonderful garden and outdoor area that we were allowed to use as well. Joke and Gerard are such nice hosts and we’ll surely visit them again! Their place is really an oasis in lively Amsterdam.
