Houseboat summary

The Beach Room on our floating B&B in the Northern part of Amsterdam has its own bathroom, ensuring all the privacy you need. You will enjoy the water views through the large windows for sure. The room is small but very light and bright and it a pleasure to watch the swans, ducks and geese passing by. Our guests appreciate the tranquility of our neighborhood, the garden and the hospitality that we offer. Breakfast is DIY style and can be enjoyed at your own time in your room or the garden.

Houseboat description

Our location

The houseboat is docked in a quiet and lovely canal with lots of other houseboats.  The free ferry NDSM Wharf is 20 minutes on foot or 5 on a bike. It takes you straight to central Station. Public transport is around the corner and you can reach the heart of the city in 20 minutes.

If you like to explore the typical Dutch landscape with the wide green fields and charming waterways, our houseboat is the perfect pick for you too. By bike the small villages of Waterland are nice to explore.  The Zaanse Schans, world heritage with the iconic windmills, is also within reach.

Great night sleep

Our guests appreciate our place for the fact that we're within easy reach of the centre, yet you won't find any loud tourist masses in our neighborhood. You will truly be a part of our community during your stay and enjoy the water life like a local. And you are assured to have a great night rest for sure in the comfortable double bed.

Private garden and swimming

After coming back from the city you can either chill out on your private room, or enjoy the garden with a roofed terrace that we offer to our guests.

During the summer you can go swimming in our canal, like many locals do.

Of course we offer all the luxury that you may expect from a comfortable room: good central heating, fast wifi and a private entrance.

Our breakfast is DIY-style, served in the common hall  and to be enjoyed in your own room or the garden at your own time. This is included in the price, and has a nice Dutch touch to it with cheese, meats and fresh fruit.

Free parking

Yes, it is quite exceptional in Amsterdam, but we do offer free parking in our street!

We hope to have given you the best impression of our floating B&B possible, but don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions. We're always glad to help!

PS one last thing: We are non-smokers and we find it hard to accomodate heavy smokers in and around our house. So if you want to smoke a lot, please find somewhere else to stay.  Thanks for understanding!

How to get there

If you arrive by car, be assured that you can park it for free at our houseboat.

If you travel by public transport, just take the free ferry that takes you from Central Station to Amsterdam North. From there you can walk to our boat in 20 minutes.

With heavy luggage you better take the metro 2 stops and from there the bus which stops just around the corner, This takes also 20 minutes

About the area

Amsterdam North is the next new thing, so to speak. Lots of culture, bars and restaurants along the shore of the IJ River (make sure to visit the NDSM wharf!), good connection with the city centre thanks to the free ferry, and not to forget the wonderful green fields and waterways nearby.

An overnight discovery in Amsterdam North Show original

You can go for the main prize for an overnight stay in the capital. Or opt for personal, attractive, affordable, quiet and green accommodation. We have found that with hostess Elise and in the B&B. Perhaps an exclusive secret tip not to share here. Less than 5 minutes with our bike to the free ferry to the other, busy part of 020.

    short trip Show original

We (a young couple) were in Amsterdam for 2 days and since we don't value luxury, we chose the small, cute room on Elise's houseboat. We found the room and the view beautiful, the beds were comfortable and the ability to make breakfast in the small kitchen at any time was great. The connection to the city center was also okay, you can get there in about 30 minutes by bus and metro or you can take the ferry (you should have done that). We will definitely come back again and have already recommended this accommodation to our friends. We were really totally satisfied.

    Paradise in Amsterdam

We LOVED our stay at Elise's house boat!! The views are amazing -- opening your doors to be right on the water was such an experience. The space was super clean. The breakfast was awesome (we loved the self serve). Elise was communicative and very friendly. We borrowed a couple bikes to get around the area, which was really fun! Highly recommend booking this amazing spot!
