Amsterdam has been a home to skippers and sailors for many centuries, especially the harbor where this traditional ship is docked. Therefore we are proud to share the experience of living on an authentic ship. We promise you will feel like a skipper as soon as you set foot aboard the 'Old Amsterdam Glory'. We warmly welcome couples who are looking for a unique and unforgettable houseboat holiday in Amsterdam!
The whole apartment is decorated with wonderful warm carpentry and lots of copper lamps, hinges and locks. By doing so we have chosen to maintain the original atmosphere aboard our ship. In the living room there is a wooden floor, painted in soft green, matching the rest of the interior very nicely. Note the wonderfully shaped windows along the ship, giving a very nice view over the harbor. And of course the many traditional Dutch elements such as the amazing woodstove burner/stove and the Delfts Blue tiles surrounding it.
Adjacent you will find the fully equipped kitchen with microwave-oven combination and many utensils for your convenience. However, there is a good chance that you will hardly use it with so many wonderful and great restaurants within walking distance.
The bedroom will last ever lasting memories. We're sure that there is a good chance you have never slept in such a cozy and charming place. The many details around you are simply enchanting and the mattress is very comfortable, ensuring a great night rest.
The last area, but certainly not the least, is the bathroom. This will certainly add to an already great stay in Amsterdam. The large jacuzzi is a true unique selling point, especially aboard such a authentic ship.

About the area
Our area is defined by one of the oldest harbors in Amsterdam. For centuries sailing ships have docked here, leaving a lasting footprint. Not only the harbor itself, but also the warehouses and of course the red light district are typical locations that belong to a naval hot spot.
Although the ship is located super central, you will be impressed by the tranquility that is found here. No tourist masses passing by, but a laid back and almost rural atmosphere.
We live on this charming, cute houseboat and love to share it with you during our holidays.

Fantastic stay in the heart of Amsterdam
I spent 2 nights with 2 teenage girls on this lovely and authentic Dutch boat moored right at the seaside entry into the old city. The beddings were very comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. All information and communication with the owner was super smooth.
We would definitely go back again and can only recommend the boat!

Charming, lovely hosts, very clean.
This charming boat is well appointed, comfortable and in a terrific location for navigating around Amsterdam. The owner (Nina) and host (Lisa) who greeted us are friendly and welcoming. Both the bedroom accommodation and the sofa-bed were comfortable, with good quality pillows and comforters that are soft and fluffy!

Tons of character tucked into one magnificent houseboat
What can we say? Except being super happy that we choose this wonderful characteristic piece of history, superbly located and with a great host. Not much more. Simply a superb find!
