The Heart Of The Amsterdam Canals
Charming studio aboard a rustic houseboat on a quiet canal in the city centre.
- Cozy private houseboat studio
- Super location in the city centre
- Close to main attractions, quiet at night
- No tourist masses passing our ship
- Floor heating and large ceiling windows
Living on the water right in the middle of the city centre has been a dream of myself for a long time. And now that this dream has come true, I love to share this wonderful experience with you. Enjoy full privacy with your own apartment, located in the city centre, yet on a very quiet and laid back location. Walk just one minute and you'll be in the buzzing part part of the city centre. Yes, this really feels like a hidden gem in Amsterdam!
NOTE: NO DRUGS OR SMOKING OF ANY KIND ARE ALLOWED IN OR ON THE BOAT.
In case we notice that this rule is not respected, we kindly but urgently ask you to leave, without any refund.
The studio aboard the houseboat is fully private, so no need to share anything with anyone. The living room with kitchenette is very light and bright, thanks to the large windows in the ceiling.
Light and bright
Although you will actually be staying in the hull of a former ancient freight ship, built in 1890(!), you will have the level of luxury you would expect in a modern apartment. The houseboat studio offers about 30 sqm of space and has floor heating all through the place, there is also good insulation and a nice finishing all through the boat. Yet, we have maintained the character of the ship by showing the original steel beams supporting the deck. So you still will have a genuine nautical experience, despite the thorough renovation and upgrade of the vessel.
Bedroom and bathroom
The bedroom is located around the corner of the living space, in a really cool and rustic space in the bow of the ship. You will enjoy a great night sleep on the comfortable double bed - not disturbed by masses of drunk tourist like in many other canals might happen. Sleeping here will make you feel like a true sailor for sure!
The separate bathroom is modern and comfortable, again with nice ceiling windows to ensure a light and bright atmosphere. There is a large rain shower, sink and toilet. Also this space offers floor heating for your convenience.
Things to do within walking distance
Our ship is docked on probably the longest and one of the oldest canals of Amsterdam, and actually on a very peaceful and quiet part. Walk to the left once you get off the boat and you will hit the Vijzelgracht with many cool breakfast places, restaurants and bars. Around the corner you'll see the famous Heineken Brewery. This is as well the beginning of the Pijp-area: well known for the countless great bars and restaurants. Walk the other side to find the Leidse Square, Museum Square and the Vondelpark.
But you don't even need to go this far. Just step out of the studio, onto the deck terrace and enjoy the typical Amsterdam houses around you.
Hope to have given you the best possible impression - but don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions. Love to give you the best Amsterdam houseboat experience possible!

How to get there
It could not be easier to reach our houseboat. Just hop on the tram from Central Station and within 10 minutes you are less than 1 minute walking from your private houseboat studio!
About the area
Your houseboat is docked right between the Pijp Area and the city centre. Although the ship is docked on a very nice and quiet piece of the Lijnbaansgracht, you will be in the buzzing area within minutes walking. Not only the Heineken Experience and the Pijp Area are around the corner, but also the Vondelpark, Museum Square (Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum, Museum of Contemporary Arts) and the Sarphatipark are within walking distance. Over-all I think it's hard to find a better place to start your discovery of Amsterdam!
Finally my dream has come true: being a houseboater in Amsterdam. Living here feels like a real privilege and I love to share this experience with you!

A dream came true
Amsterdam..... a dream came true for both of us on Daniels's lovely houseboat.
The latest next year in autumn we will see you again Daniel because Amsterdam is a dream you can't dream out in 2 nights or 3 days.
Our host Daniel: very friendly, helpful and perfectly organized.
Our boat: perfectly stuffed and charmingly decorated.
The location: very well connected, close to the center, quiet and so beautiful.
Amsterdam: a dream.
And thank you very much

My son and I loved this sweet rustic houseboat that was a walk to everything. Daniel gave us great ideas and tips. Very comfortable with heavenly heated floors, movies on large tv, washing machine, fridge... what more do you need! I would definitely stay here again. Thanks Daniel!

Hate to leave this little floating heaven
Having lived in the studio of Daniel has been a wonderful event - even if it was only for two nights. You walk right into the buzzing city centre and there are lots of cool things just around the corner. But getting back home was always the best part of the trip. We loved our little love nest, charming, convenient and characteristic. It is not huge, but that was not a problem at all since there were so many cool aspects that made up for that. The studio is clean, comfortable and sitting outside on the front deck with a good glass of wine resulted in memories never to forget. Thanks for having us Daniel - appreciate your hospitality!

I never wanted to leave!
This houseboat was lovely!
My partner and I came to Amsterdam for our anniversary, and stayed on this beautiful house boat.
Daniel was a fantastic host, even when we turned up late due to the confusing canals! I never wanted to leave Amsterdam or such a pretty location, and will definitely be staying here again when I come here in the future.

We have been so fortunate to stay with Daniel for a short period this winter, and we truly loved it. The houseboat is like a little bohemian dream, a true safe haven in a busy city as Amsterdam. We loved the little woodstove burner, the little quirky details and the use of so much different materials all through the boat. This gives the place a very personal character and warmth. Loved staying here, hated to leave, love to be back one day!
