Houseboat description
The Tiny Houseboat is a brand new floating studio, designed and built in The Netherlands. And now available for everyone who is ready for something completely different. She is wonderfully located in the cozy and well equipped marina of Andijk, at the shore of the immense IJsselmeer (the former Southern Sea, in Dutch: Zuiderzee). I will tell you more about this interesting area later, but let's have a look at the Tiny Houseboat first.
First of all: the limited floor space. This is actually the strength of this place, a unique selling point. Inside you have 14 square meters, but these are used in the most efficient and innovative way possible. The architects were up to the task to create a tiny houseboat, without making concessions to the usability as a luxury floating holiday home. And I think they succeeded.
You have a large and high-end double bed to enjoy a great night rest, as well as a comfortable sleeping couch. Furthermore there is a table with chairs, a compact kitchen and a bathroom with shower an toilet. The whole front of the boat is equipped with a huge glass wall, letting in lots of light and giving a wonderful view over the water.
But there is more: when opening the large sliding window, you have access to the waterfront terrace with 20 sqm(!) of space. This creates a surprisingly spacious effect and will contribute to the unique outdoor experience on the water that we strive to share with you. And a really cool and unique feature is the indoor docking space for your dinghy or small motor boat if you decide to visit us with your (sailing) ship!
The Tiny Houseboat can accommodate up to three adults or two adults with 2 children up to 12 years.
The area surrounding the marina is famous for the many wonderful cycling routes along famous historical fishing villages such as Medemblik and Enkhuizen. You will find many restaurants and bars, as well as shops nearby.
The concept of this small houseboat is based on the global 'tiny houses movement'. The key question of this movement is: how can I leave a ecological footprint as possible? Good insulation is an important question, but also reducing the amount of raw materials used makes a huge difference. We are proud to be part of this movement, and hope you like the result!
Andijk is located 55 km from Amsterdam, 45 km from Alkmaar, 10 km from Enkhuizen, 9 km from Medemblik and 45 km from Volendam.
