Houseboat summary

The toue cabanée (a 'towing cabin') is an environmentally friendly product with innovative solutions for a green building perspective. They were originally devoted to fishing and the transportation of goods. It has history and its own identity, so staying in a toue cabanée is a journey through time! The two we offer for rent, the "La Javanaise" and "Le Poisson Fa" were designed and built, entirely of wood, on the banks of the Loire near Chinon. Moored on the water of the Petite Madeleine near the lock of the same name, the toues cabanées offer unique accommodation in a beautiful natural site. The toues cabanées have heating and welcome you in all seasons!

Houseboat description

We had a fantastic stay here. Catherine and family were so welcoming. This was a perfect start to our holiday, a lovely place to relax. We really enjoyed the canoes and the bikes which were free to use. There's also a trampoline which Catherine's children kindly offered to our children. The shower and toilet facilities were good too. We had dinner one night which was fab. Breakfast was also really good and Catherine was the perfect host. We can also recommend the bar/restaurant at the top (2 mins walk). Ludwig was very amenable despite our language barrier. One thing I would say was that a bigger table was needed for the four of us. We had a couple of breakages! Highly recommend you stay here for a lovely relaxing location.

    Very serene. Great houseboat experience.

Adorable little house boat with a lovely area for sitting out on the deck with a drink in the evening. Very serene. We were cycling and Catherine made sure we had a secure place to lock up our bikes and make us feel very welcome.

Sleeping in a wonderful houseboat - love it!

Catherine is very nice, it immediately puts at ease whether at the time of the first exchanged emails or at the time of his visit (his) boat. We particularly liked the box: the canal and its first, but especially being able to sleep in a boat! We stopped in a family with two little boy of 20 months and 3 years (we were the Ille and Rance canal bike) and we liked the concept is both simple and "exotic". what happiness for us and the kids to watch the channel and the other boats in the morning in bed, through the windows!

    Superb barge! Show original

Ouahhhh... what a pleasure to sleep on the water, to wake up with the sun and its reflections on the water... Breakfast in bed or on the bow... idleness, relaxation. For a totally relaxed trip, it's a very peaceful experience...for us it was very romantic. Candle and little clap shake all urban tensions and take them away from us. Catherine is also very friendly and the hearty breakfast with homemade lemon madeleines! Yum yum For a cuddly weekend, it's perfect!!! Thank you Katherine
