Houseboat description

The accommodation is beautifully designed and has recently been fully refurbished. This lovely boat sleeps up to 4 adults and 1 child. It comprises a king size master bed, and a bunk for a single child. The seating area converts in to a double bed. Perfect for a luxurious romantic getaway for two, or an alternative and fun holiday for a family.

Enjoy a living area with a comfy lounge sofa, making it an easy place to relax after exploring the city. When you feel like cooking for yourself you can do so with a hand crafted kitchen, gas oven and hob. Store anything in the good sized fridge with freezing compartment. All the usual kitchen equipment is available.

Enjoy a nice warm bath in the bathroom ensuring you will feel relaxed after a nice day out and about. The WC is a cassette toilet which would usually have to be emptied by the host every 3- 5 days. Water is held in a tank on-board and needs topping up every few days (depending on your usage). This will be done by your host. So no need to worry about this.

During the winter months heating is by the solid fuel stove which burns a combination of smokeless coal and logs which are provided. The stove can be controlled and kept going 24 hours. Some attention needs to be paid to this. It keeps the boat warm and cosy. An eco fan assists circulation.

Visit some of the most famous sights London has to offer just a walking distance away from your boat. The boat is moored on Browning's Pond in Little Venice, a 5 minute walk from Paddington station

An authentic narrowboat experience with feeding ducks as optional

We wanted a chance to experience Little Venice in an authentic way, and living on a narrowboat for 3 days gave us a glimpse of this alternative London lifestyle. I especially enjoyed a hot bath in the clawfoot bathtub after a long day of shopping on Oxford Street. With a refrigerator, cooker and even a washing machine, we loved the excellent nearby cafes and restaurants. I fed the ducks out the window, and it is very quiet. Note that getting into the boat requires upper body strength as it is a hatch style entrance, with steep steps down into the boat (this is a traditional boat).
