Houseboat summary

Each year we offer static/moored houseboat hire from November to March.

The boat will be based at the Bridgewater marina which is 9 miles by road from Manchester city center, North West, UK. With a solid fuel stove and central heating, the boat is perfect for a winter and early spring hideaway. If you have ever fancied staying on a houseboat come and try ours. You will be based on a well-serviced marina. From March to November, the boat is used for narrowboat holiday hire along the canals.

Houseboat description

The boat has 2 double beds, the boat is spacious, bright, clean and comfortable and can sleep up to 4 people.

The narrowboat has a reverse layout which means the galley (kitchen) is at the back of the boat. This allows for easy access to the back deck. The galley has a gas hob, cooker, fridge/freezer and we have a varied selection of cooking utensils.

You then walk past the solid fuel stove into the saloon area where there is a settee which pulls out into a comfortable double bed. There is a free-standing table which can be easily dismantled and stored out of the way.

Following the lounge, there is lots of decent storage space for luggage and clothes.

The narrowboat's bathroom has a shower, sink, plumbed in cassette toilet (with 3 cassettes) and more storage space.

The bedroom at the front of the boat has a fixed, full-sized double bed and doors which look out onto the front deck.

There is gas central heating and a solid fuel stove, a TV & DVD player, there are 230V electrical sockets. The hire price includes all gas, bedding, and towels.

You can take a walk along the canal or through the fields where there are deer and foxes, owls and hedgehogs.
