    Great stay onboard

I had a very nice time on board the boat in Metz. The location is really nice and this is true for the boat as well. It is clean and well-equipped and the owners are very friendly and helpful. I can strongly recommend staying there and I am sure that I will return.

Super houseboat near Metz Show original

The old barge has been redesigned with great attention to detail into a tasteful holiday home where you immediately feel at home. The location on the canal is wonderful. In the morning when you wake up in the cozy bunk you laugh (in May) beautiful chestnut blossoms through the portholes. The nightingales sing in the evening. At breakfast (e.g. with typical Lorraine mirabelle cake (can be bought in the old town)) on the "terrace" you can watch the leisurely hustle and bustle on the canal, herons fly by, joggers do their laps and anglers wait for the next fish. Walking and cycling paths invite you to explore, even a Way of St. James leads past here. The city of Metz with its impressive cathedral and many parks is very beautiful and interesting and a detour to Nancy in the south is also worthwhile.

We felt very comfortable and say Merci!

    Highly recommended houseboat near Metz

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay of several days on Hervé's houseboat. The location was ideal - walking distance from the centre of Metz, but in a very quiet stretch of the canal, with clear clean water, greenery all round, and bird life. The houseboat is compact but well designed and equipped, and tastefully decorated. We were glad of the air-conditioning during the heat wave, but enjoyed sitting out on the deck for evening meals. Hervé is very friendly and helpful without being obtrusive! The provision of two bikes is a useful touch. Altogether very highly recommended!
