Sailing ship description
You will be welcomed by skipper Jan, who will take you out sailing with his shipmate. The standard departure harbour is Monnickendam, but on request you can discuss other departure locations such as Amsterdam.
About the ship
This sailing vessel was built in 1906. With 25 meters length and 5 meters width, this clipper has a shallow draft of only 1,1 meter, enabling her to cruise on the shallow Frisian waters as well. The ship was transformed into a charter ship in 1977 and has entertained countless groups ever since. She has been well kept over the years and offers a great offshore sailing experience.
Unique shallow water sailing
With its shallow depth this clipper is perfect for shallow water sailing. This allows for sailing on the Frisian inland waters. A way of sailling that few ships over this is something truly unqiue.
Layout of the sailing ship
The deck is spacious and the cabins are comfortable. On deck you will find a sheltered seating area where you can sit back and relax. From here you have direct access to the accommodation below deck. Descend in you will enter the hull of the ship, with the galley dining area and cabins.
The four 2-person cabins and two 4-person cabins can accommodate a total of 16 people to enjoy multiple day trips. Relax in the large dining area below deck. Look through the large windows and see what's going on outside. There is a wood stove which creates a great atmosphere. There are two showers and two toilets on ship.
In the galley you have access to a professional 6-stove burner, oven, 200-liter fridge, 25 liter freezer. Furthermore there is a BBQ, stereo-set, TV with DVD and a dinghy.
