Sailing ship summary

Hoist the sails of one of the oldest still sailing ships of the brown fleet: the Antonius. The charter ship from 1898 is the perfect place to enjoy the water with a large group. Where many other ships have been scrapped and replaced by more modern ships, the Antonius has been restored to its former glory and now serves as the perfect ship for sailing trips with classmates, family or friends for up to 14 people when it comes to several days and up to 25 people when it comes to a day trip.

The ship was thoroughly restored in 1982 and 1994 in authentic style, including the installation of all possible sanitary facilities.

Sailing ship description

The Antonius is described as rustic and authentic. Where the ship transported peat in the past, it is now mainly a place for fun and adventure.

Skipper Carool (1964) determines the course of the trip. Do you opt for the Wadden Sea, the Frisian Lakes or the Markermeer? Depending on the weather and the duration of the trip, Carool will choose the best route for you. Carool grew up on a shipyard with lots of water and boats around her. After his education at the gardening and agricultural school, his love for sailing quickly resurfaced, so he finally decided to buy his own ship to share his passion with other people.

The ship can accommodate 14 people overnight. The accommodations are all equipped with their own sink. A cabin is for 2-6 people.

Houseboat owner

Carool
