De Nieuwe Zorg

The Nieuwe Zorg was originally built for freight shipping in 1896. Goods such as peat, stones and wood were transported by the historic sailing ship. Around 1950 the sailing ship was converted into a houseboat. Although the Dutch tjalk is over 125 years old, it is equipped with all modern conveniences.

Egbert is the skipper of the Nieuwe Zorg and sails you across the Wadden Sea and the IJsselmeer. You board at Muiden, but other departure and arrival ports are possible on request. Egbert is happy to teach you how to sail, but there is also time and freedom to relax in the fresh sea air. You can rent the sturdy sailing ship for day trips, but also for multi-day trips. During day trips there is room for 30 people, and during multi-day trips there is room for no fewer than 20 people.

The Dutch tjalk is now over 125 years old and equipped with all modern conveniences. The sailing ship has a sail area of no less than 240 square meters and a length of 25 meters. Skipper Egbert and his sailor are happy to teach you how to sail on this imposing sailing ship. The sailing areas of the Nieuwe Zorg are the Wadden Sea and the IJsselmeer. Safety is very important to skipper Egbert, so the ship is equipped with children's life jackets and a bathing ladder.

The historic ship offers sleeping accommodation for no less than 20 people during multi-day trips. Are you going away alone for a day with your friends, family or colleagues? Then you can also rent the Nieuwe Zorg for a day trip, there is room for no less than 30 people. On board there are four 2-person cabins and three 4-person cabins. Compared to many other sailing ships, each cabin has its own sink.

The kitchen is well equipped and includes a refrigerator, oven, 6 gas burners and finally a beer tap. Enjoy a home-drafted beer at the end of a long day. The ship is also equipped with a TV/DVD (on request) and a professional music system, in short, everything to make it a pleasant and successful evening.
