About the area
The 13th district of Paris has just been totally renovated. From the Very Large Library to the Gare d'Austerlitz via the quays and the City of Fashion and Design everything is new.
We are located between the Gare d'Austerlitz and the Gare de Lyon in other words we have 4 metro lines, 3 RER including one that goes to Euro Disney and a dozen bus lines that take you to the 4 corners of Paris. For those who come by car there is a secure parking, but paid, 100 m from the boat.
As a guide in Paris, I love being around people and telling them how great a city we live in. Buying this houseboat and renting out the apartments just completed this host activity. It is fun and fulfilling and we want you to feel at home with us...

10 days in Paris
We booked the Nénuphar for 10 days during the Christmas/New Years holiday.
The boat was large giving the two of us plenty of space to make ourselves comfortable. The bed was comfortable, the water hot, WiFi reliable and it had all the basic amenities we needed from plates, cooking ware, towels, hairdryer and extra bedding.
The location was superb; able to walk from Gare de Lyon to the Nénuphar and then around from there. The Gare de Austerlitz was located across the street and we took advantage of this- but most of the time we walked every where.
Marie-Laure answered all of our emails in a timely manner and even consented for us to bring our cats (in the end we did not). She offered to clean halfway through our visit but that was not necessary; we just needed fresh towels. Mark, her partner, also greased some things around the boat as they were creaking in the the night as well as placed some mats down on the walk-way areas so prevent slipping. Apart from these interactions, they let us have our privacy.
We loved our stay on the Nénuphar but we are also easy-going, adaptable travelers. This is not a hotel where most things are perfect...there was nighttime noise from the train until midnight and the boat rocked, swayed and made noises...like a boat does, but if those things didn’t bother us. We were comfortable and felt safe the entire stay.
It was an unique experience and one I would recommend!

Nothing bad to say!
Me and my sisters stayed in the Nenuphar Peniche for a long weekend and had a fantastic time. The Peniche itself is decorated nicely, is clean and has great facilities. The area is also very secure so no random stranger can get to the boat! Marie-Laure the landlady is really nice and even shared a bottle of wine with us on our first evening. I would recommend this place to anyone and will definitely choose the Nenuphar on my next trip to Paris!

We had A lovely time at the boat. Our host was so nice she came and helped us find a parking space. Ended up doing some laundry for us as well a wonderful benefit. The boat was conveniently located and we often had our morning coffee on the patio watching other boats go bye.

Better than on the pictures
It is a bit noisy when a train passes through the bridge nearby. The boat tosses a bit when another boat passes by. Actually it is not something very disturbing but if you have a related disease or something, you might not enjoy it. It is hard to see the name of the boat at first. The boat was very clean and comfortable. The owner thought everything in advance so you can find anything you need inside the boat. From the pictures, the boat looks a bit old and small, but in fact, it is not!
The owner was really sweet and helpful. As she also lives in the boat, she is always around when you need her. The location is great as Gare d'Austerlitz is just a minute away. There are also local markets and supermarkets nearby. The location seems a bit isolated at first, but then you notice that there are always people around jogging, having a walk, etc. Long story short: Thanks to a very kind owner and a great location, it was a great experience!

Extraordinary adventure on Paris houseboat!
We had a fabulous time on Marie-Laure’s house books in Paris. It is located in the perfect area to shop dine and take in the Sienne. The accommodation was absolutely lovely – tall ceilings spacious bathroom nice decorating touches. We enjoyed wine on the deck as the sun sets and look forward to returning in the future!Merci beaucoup
