Call from the airport to let me know you have arrived.
In Summer: Go to the government warf in old town and I will come and pick you up at the dock with the power boat.
In Winter: Go to the boat launch at a store in old town called "Just Furs" and turn onto the ice road. Follow the orange traffic cones to my houseboat - a 20 second drive.
About the area
Forty anchored houseboats strewn respectful distances from each other - so as not to cross anchor lines - make houseboat bay one of the most unique communities in the world to paddle around in. Yellowknife is also one of the most remote cities you will find; wilderness surrounds the area in every direction. The city will not do without its restaurants/pubs/art! Our neighbourhood bar is the NWT Brewing company Woodyard pub, which is steps away in the winter and a very short paddle in the summer. There are many places to eat and visit in Yellowknife at any time of year. Go dogsledding and ice fishing in the winter through locals.
I am an outgoing, adventurous artist and builder who loves to kayak, hike, just be outside, and to sit on my deck when the sun is shining, surrounded by shimmering water! I love travelling, meeting new people, and welcome those who are interested in living a truly unique lifestyle on my houseboats even for just a few days. Through my travels, I have welcomed many to my B&B and hope that you will be one of them!
