Welcome to your stay

'Rosita' is a comfortable and cosy former fishing cutter transformed into a yacht with all modern amenities.

Explore your stay

'Rosita' is a 12m long and 4m wide former fishing cutter, transformed into a very comfortable and cosy yacht with central heating, hot and cold running water, shower and toilet.

In the cabin you'll find a double bed (2m x 1.4m) and a single bed (2m x 90cm), a seating area with a table, television, a kitchen with a sink, cutlery, microwave and coffee machine.

However, the cooking stove cannot be used because of regulations in Amsterdam. There is a separate wheelhouse, where smoking is allowed. On the aft deck there is a small terrace with chairs and a table. Even with very cold weather the boat is warm and comfy inside.

The cutter is reached by crossing the roof of the owner's houseboat. The boat will be fully yours, from bow to stern, thus you will have a lot of privacy on board. The maximum number of guests is 2. Children and pets are not allowed. This boat is not fit for obese or otherwise infirm people because of the steps leading to the boat and into the cabin. Also know that this boat is not meant for drunk or cannabis crazed youngsters. Having a good time: yes! Smoking a joint, no problem! Having a party: no! If this doesn't scare you off, you are most welcome aboard and I will be at your service with suggestions what to do and where to go in this beautiful city.

Rosita is moored in a quiet part and beautiful of the old centre of Amsterdam, overlooking the Prinsengracht. The famous 'Jordaan' area is right here too, with its 400 year old houses. Also the best market in Amsterdam, the 'Noordermarkt', open every Saturday and Monday, is right next door. The nearest shopping street, 'Haarlemmerdijk' is known for its liveliness and cosy little shops and restaurants.

    Perfect stay for w wknd

First of all, Friedrich is the perfect host. Kind, witty, he has an answer for every question you have before you ask it. Rosita (II) is a former fishing boat next to the houseboat of Friedrich and his wife, Rosita (I), in a perfect place at the beginning of WESTERDOCK, just 10' walk from AMSTERDAM CENTRAAL. It is a quiet place, away from the hustle and bustle of tourists, but next to the central station and the cozy Jordaan district.

The boat is enough for 2-3 people, a couple alone or with a child, and has a bathroom, shower, mini fridge, for 4-5 small bottles of water, coffee maker, a double and a single "bed", towels, and duvet. At its stern, there is a small table and two chairs for you to gaze at the stars at night while drinking a beer. For those who are not used to a floating "house", it may cause a little nausea since, even though the boat is tied up, any internal or external, sea, movement causes a slight swaying. It is helpful in falling asleep because it lulls you, but in the morning you may feel slightly dizzy. The boat is spotlessly clean and well maintained. Friedrich has taken care, through a brochure, not only to inform about the "rules" of stay but also to suggest his own alternative options for exploring Amsterdam away from the hustle and bustle, full of tourists, full of dirt, in the city center. For a three-day stay, it is an ideal alternative option. Personally, I stayed with my 18-year-old high school graduate daughter, who had fun and enjoyed it very much. I highly recommend it.

    Truly unique stay

Such a characterful place to spend a stay in the Netherlands. Definitely a true houseboat, not just a floating apartment. Exactly what we were after. Location was excellent, close to everything but still quiet at night. Friedrich was a lovely host, with clear and prompt communication, always helpful and great recommendations. Also good for a chat by the front door. Would definitely book again.

    Lovely stay

We had such a lovely stay on this boat! The boat is in a fantastic location & close to central station if you want to travel else where. The boat itself is very cute and cosy with a nice amount of space to hang about both in boat & wheel house. Our host was extremely lovely!

    Great

Friedrich was very friendly and helpful. The boat was very stable. It was small but comfortable enough for 2 people. The bathroom was very small. Great location, close to the city and main station. The boat has Amsterdam guide books, which were useful. There is bedding for 3, but I wouldn't recommend 3 people in such a small space.
