Amsterdam adventure

Tom was welcoming and friendly from the moment we arrived. The boat was awesome and just what we had in mind. The highlight of the stay was when Tom took the boat out for the afternoon with a BBQ on top of it. Brilliant all-round time had by everyone that went... tx Tom

We stayed 4 nights with 3 adults and 6 kids aged 8-15. We had an absolutely brilliant time - the beautiful boat was much bigger than we had expected, very comfortable cabins and living space, and everything provided, including a huge fridge. Tom and his wife were so kind and took us on a great day trip beyond the lock (under motor) to a place outside Amsterdam where we could jump off the boat, swim, and play with a dinghy, which the kids loved. We did a cool barbecue off the side of the boat. The location where the boat is moored is fascinating and felt very safe, with a large supermarket, bike hire, cafes, playground, and restaurant 10 mins walk away. It took us about 15 minutes to bike into the Jordaan area for the more central Amsterdam sights. We all think it was a very special experience - huge thanks to our hosts for making us so welcome and being such fun!

The choice of ship was a success. Perfect distance to city center with a good walk or tram. Yet so calm and quiet. Our host was very informative before the travel and took us on a very nice tour through the harbour in the evening sun. It's an old sailing ship, well taken care of and very well equipped. We didn't lack anything and were humbled by the history and charm of this gem.

Our stay was perfect; the boat is very well equipped, and we could organize family meals. The cabins are comfortable. We had a wonderful stay.

We were a group of seven and stayed with Tom, and we had a wonderful time. Everything was perfectly organized, and Tom and his wife are fantastic hosts – warm, attentive, and always ready to help. A definite highlight was the houseboat trip, which we will all remember fondly. We highly recommend staying with them and would definitely come back!
