Private houseboat + wellness in historic Amsterdam

We spent 5 nights on the boat. It is lovingly furnished and has everything you need. Since it is not a houseboat in the true sense of the word, the space available is somewhat limited by steps to the bed and bathroom. In the front area there is a sauna that can be heated to around 50 degrees with wood. Two towels are provided. Unfortunately, no more for the sauna.

The rain shower is nice, but in the middle of the room with no splash guard. Unfortunately, the drain didn't work very well either, so that after showering, the water in the bathroom often overflowed the shower tray and then drained away slowly. The toilet didn't always manage to get rid of everything after several flushes, even though the paper was disposed of separately. Unfortunately, the unpleasant smell of the motor was also often present. But only in the kitchen/lounge area.

The bed is excellent and we slept very well in it. There was plenty of water, coffee and tea, which is not always a given. Shower gel and hair shampoo were also available. The internet worked, but not very fast. The boat is in the marina right next to a busy road, but you can't hear it from the boat.

Houseboat was beautiful. Best trip to Amsterdam so far. Host was so kind. Will definitely be staying again.

Our visit to Amsterdam in this romantic and beautiful housboat was great! There is so much love and detail to the boat and to the decoration. Even the cold and wet days in January we've spend strolling through this beautiful city, we could warm up nicely in the private sauna. Vivian was a great host and a lovely person.

Cute with an ideal location for easy access to sights and downtown Amsterdam. Host was very slow to respond to emails particularly regarding access to the vessel. Seemed like the host didn’t want others in the marina to know this was a rental as we were asked to tell any folks we engaged at the marine that we were “friends” with the host. This made the stay feel tenuous.

My boyfriend and I had a great time staying on this beautiful boat in May. Vivian was a great host, super friendly and helpful. The bed was so comfy and the sauna was a great addition. Would definitely stay again!
