Houseboat summary

Our historic houseboat 'Entreprise' (1895) is located in a green oasis in the center of Amsterdam. Public transport, cafes, restaurants, and tourist hotspots like the Waterloo Square, Rembrandt Square, The Nieuwmarkt and the National Maritime Museum are just around the corner. The place is so unique that even many true Amsterdam residents don't know it.

Houseboat description

Our exclusive entire houseboat is 110 m2 with a roof terrace and a garden. It is situated next to a small park, so you are in the middle of the center but in a very quiet atmosphere.

The boat has one bedroom with kingsize bed (160 x 200 cm), very cosy in traditional style and a beautiful bathroom with bath and rain-shower, with a lot of windows for a nice view over the water.

The living room is bright with a double sofa bed, 43 inch TV (with cable, Netflix and Amazone Prime), a desk and fast WiFi. The separate living kitchen is equipped with dishwasher, big microwave/convection oven, coffeemaker (Nespresso + Dolce Gusto), toaster, kettle, refrigerator with freezer section and a lot of cookware.

In the hall there is a separate toilet and a wardrobe closet. The boat is centrally heated, so you are assured to be comfortably warm all year round and has a romantic gas fireplace.

We hope to welcome you soon! Jeroen and Inge

Before you book, please note:
There is a cat on board (sometimes), by the name of Bilbo. You don't have to take care of him, he's just there whenever he wants to be...

The bedroom is very "boatish". People, taller than 1,75 meter can't stand straight, but the lush, king-size bed and authentic carpentry make up for that completely once you lie down.

The bathroom is located in the wheelhouse and offers a high level of comfort. There is a large bath and a rain shower with a lot of windows for a nice view over the water.

About the area

The houseboat is wonderfully quietly located in a small park, which in turn is located at the end of a dead-end street in the old center of the city. Within a radius of approximately 500 meters are the (st) Opera, the Waterloopleinmarkt, the Jewish Historical Museum, Artis Zoo, the Maritime Museum, Nemo and the cozy cafes and restaurants on the Nieuwmarkt. Around the corner is a gym, Kadijksplein, with a choice of nice restaurants and bars.

    A great place to stay

A fantastic location, super clean, quietand nice. Centrally located, which is great, since Amsterdam is such a walkable city. The bed is very comfortable, lots of space to live around. Just be aware of the low ceiling in the bed room. Be prepared, the bathroom has no shades and only half the window has privacy shading. I plan to rebook here next time I go.

    Truly a unique stay!

Truly a unique stay. Having the run of a beautiful houseboat in a beautiful location. The local information/tips and welcoming Prosecco were warm touches. Was a big fan of the cat - comes and goes as it pleases and keeps you company sometimes.

Lovely houseboat in a great location

We had a lovely 3 night stay on the Enterprise over a March weekend. It's in a perfect location, walkable to pretty much everywhere and in a quiet area. The boat is very comfortable and equipped with everything you could need for your stay. We loved it and would definitely recommend it. I hadn't realised that Bilbo (the neighborhood cat) has access to the boat via a cat flap. Completely my mistake as I hadn't read the details properly. I am allergic to cats so Rilana who checked us in was really kind and deactivated the cat flap so he couldn't get in. The only other thing to be aware of is that the bedroom ceiling is quite low so if you are tall it will require some stooping - but totally worth it to be staying on such a lovely boat.

    Booked last minute

Originally we though the location was going to be too far out of the core of Amsterdam, but we were booking last minute so we didn't have a lot of time to do a lot more research. Once we started to walk around and saw where the Metro station was, this was a great combination of close and quiet. The walk was just a bit longer to Dam Square but in exchange, it was very quiet with minimal, if any, outside noise or disruption.
