    Great days in AdamShow original

A very nice studio. A lovely, attentive hostess. Excellent amenities and tasteful decor. The location is superb. The view of the Amstel River is priceless. The only downside is the terrace, which is more like a Robinson Crusoe raft with lots of shade and difficult access. There's room for improvement there.

    Arcadia a lovely stay!

Big thanks to Carmen for creating a comfortable retreat at houseboat Arcadia. This was a great base for our first time in Amsterdam. The tram to Central Station is a five-minute walk away and stops at major locations. The studio is comfortable and cozy. There is a fan, but having a larger one would be helpful with air circulation. The surrounding neighborhood has grocery stores, shops, and restaurants.

    Arcadia Studio

The studio was very nice - clean with an updated interior. The hostess met us there. The loft bed is king size, and the couch is comfortable enough to sleep on. The hostess gave us a sheet and comforter for the couch as my daughter decided to sleep there. The bathroom and kitchen have all modern fixtures and style. There is a washing machine, which was very convenient.

This studio is definitely a two-person maximum space. The studio is actually below on the boat, so it has no deck to sit on and enjoy the river scene. The stairway going down to the studio is narrow and curves, making it difficult to take a large case down and up. The hostess was nervous that we would mark up the walls with our luggage. Overall, it was a nice place to stay. We were out sightseeing all day, but it would have been nice to be able to sit on a deck with a glass of wine, watching all the boats on the river in the evening.

    Calm, Quiet, Convenient

A superb value consideration. Very comfortable check-in and check-out process, no unwanted elements, and nothing missing, and Carmen let me know via messages that she was available and keen to ensure it was a good stay. Regular hotels are a tough sell for me with this kind of offer around, and if you're a shy one, might I add that I never had to actually meet Carmen in person, which also kind of made me feel like it was my own apartment for the duration. Very clean, very neat, very tastefully designed and decorated. Being able to look out on the Amstel river and its passing boats, while showering with open blinds, was definitely a unique high point. Windows are at adult head height. The toilet seat could use a hinge repair or replacement, and the kitchen table's wall lamp seemed to not support its own weight quite like it's supposed to. Both totally usable, though. That's really all I found to criticise.

    Arcadia review

Great communication from Carmen start to finish. She was very welcoming and helpful, met us at the houseboat and provided us with information we asked for. Arcadia was a very nice place to stay-new and clean, perfect for a stay on a houseboat only a half hour walk from city centre.
