Houseboat summary
The Tulip VIP is the best floating hotel room possible. It has a bathroom en suite, a private love seat outside on deck, a coffee corner with a minibar fridge and your own private swimming pool: just jump in the waters from your deck and swim.
Tulip VIP is the perfect experience you are looking for, with a typical flavor of the traditional Dutch accommodation.
Docked only a few minutes from Amsterdam Central Station, newly renovated and designed under architecture: that's the Tulip VIP of Amsterdam in a nut shell. You will be sleeping in the hull of a historical freight ship, in a bed that is basically a throne. The room offers lots of space and light getting in via the stylish portholes, creating a very bright atmosphere. And the location could not be better: close to the buzzing city center, yet you are assured to enjoy a good night rest since our harbor is peaceful and away from the tourist masses.
Houseboat description
The Tulip VIP is so much more than just a hotel room. Our harbor is a wonderful melting pot of people who enjoy living on the water, each in their own way. Just like all the people are unique, also the ships and barges docked here have their own character. The atmosphere is stylish, contemporary, friendly and private.
What you may expect aboard the houseboat apartment
Descend from the spacious deck with panoramic views of the old and new Amsterdam, and enter an unexpected world of space and brightness. The various roof windows and portholes enable a cheerful play of of light and shades dancing through your private floating hotel room.
The bathroom en suite offers everything you need during a well deserved holiday in Amsterdam: shower, toilet and sink with lighted mirror, as well as a hair dryer. But it offers even more as you can watch swans swimming in front of your window while brushing your teeth.
Outside space
We're glad to say that you can use the entire spacious deck and just for you there is a private love seat on the front deck of the ship too. Here at the very front point of the ship, you can make your own classic Titanic photo's, with Amsterdam skyline city lights in the background.
Please note that people do live on board of the boats all around you, so we kindly ask to be silent after 22.00 if you are outside, to ensure everyone is getting a good night rest. We highly recommend to check out café Pollux across the street if you want to stay out longer ;-) as it is open till down.
The neighborhood
Although our harbor is nice and quiet, you will be in the middle of the city life within a minute walking. Across the street you find one of the many great bars around: Café Pollux, laid back place to have a drink and often enjoy life music too. Walk on and you will find many other places to eat, with cuisines basically from every corner of the world. In the immediate neighborhood you will find the China Town at the buzzing Zeedijk and red light district, as well as the Maritime and Science museums. Get inspired on the daily market Nieuwmarkt and find cool stuff on the Waterloo Square (Waterlooplein). Walk the other way and you will enjoy the amazing views over the IJ-River, and when the sun is shining make sure to visit the terrace of bar Hannekes Boom!
We hope that during your stay with us you will enjoy one another and the pleasures our neighborhood and our city offers. This is why we do not have televisions or radio's on board.
But for the ones who can not live without (social) media, we do offer excellence fast WiFi. The only thing you have to do is bring your own mobile(smart)phone or tablet/computer with you.
If you want us to provide one for you, just let us know.
Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions -always glad to help. Look forward welcoming you aboard!
