Welcome to your stay

Just minutes from Amsterdam Central Station, this stylish houseboat studio offers a truly unique stay on the water. Located in the hull of a historic freight ship, the space is bright and inviting thanks to large roof windows and elegant portholes. Enjoy the energy of the city nearby, while the hidden harbor offers a surprisingly peaceful place to relax and unwind.

Explore your stay

The Houseboat studio offers much more than just a place to stay, it offers a glimpse into the unique world of Amsterdam’s houseboat living.

Our harbor is a small community of people who enjoy life on the water, each vessel with its own history and character. This creates a warm and authentic atmosphere that you won’t find anywhere else in the city.

Your accomodation

The private studio apartment is located in the front of the ship and offers plenty of space, light and comfort. From the deck you descend into a surprisingly bright interior where portholes and roof windows create a beautiful play of natural light throughout the day.

The high-quality double bed (200 x 160 cm) is located in the front of the hull. Although it sits just below water level, it may well be one of the most special places you’ve ever slept.

The studio is designed to be both comfortable and relaxing after a day exploring Amsterdam. Many guests say sleeping on the water is one of the most memorable parts of their stay. It’s the perfect base for discovering the city while enjoying the unique atmosphere of life on a houseboat.

The living area offers a cosy table for two, perfect for breakfast while planning your day in Amsterdam.

The kitchenette includes a  fridge, toaster, coffee maker and water kettle. There are no full cooking facilities, but with so many wonderful restaurants, cafés and bars just around the corner, most guests happily explore the neighborhood instead.

The bathroom includes a comfortable shower, toilet, sink with illuminated mirror and a hair dryer.

The apartment is very well insulated and equipped with comfortable floor heating, ensuring a warm and cosy stay even during colder months.

You’ll also find plenty of wall sockets and USB ports to easily charge all your devices.

The studio apartment is located in the front of the ship and offers complete privacy. The host also lives on board in a separate part of the vessel, while guests enjoy their own fully private space.

Guests have full private access to the studio apartment during their stay. The apartment is completely self-contained and offers its own private living space, bathroom and kitchenette.

Andere dingen waar je op moet letten
As this is a houseboat, access to the apartment involves a few steps and short stairways inside the boat. For this reason, the accommodation may be less suitable for guests with limited mobility.

The toilet is connected to the city sewage system via a marine pump. For this reason, toilet paper should not be flushed and can be disposed of in the bin provided. A bidet is available for additional comfort.

The apartment is part of a houseboat where the host also lives on board. The atmosphere in the harbor is friendly, relaxed and residential.

Guests are very welcome to enjoy their stay, while respecting the peaceful character of the harbor and the neighbors. The apartment is therefore best suited for couples or travelers looking for a comfortable and relaxing stay in the heart of Amsterdam.

I thoroughly enjoy living on the water in Amsterdam. Life on a houseboat has something special about it: the tranquility of the water, the light, and at the same time the energy of the city around you.

For me, Amsterdam is the perfect combination of freedom, culture, and vibrancy. Every day feels a bit like a little adventure.

I hope that others can also experience, for a moment, how special it is to stay on the water, right in the middle of this fantastic city.

    100% recommend.

The houseboat is a truly beautiful and unique stay in Amsterdam. Within walking distance of classic tourist attractions, as well as more "boutique" quiet areas. The boat itself it beautiful and just far away enough from the hustle of the city for a peaceful evening and morning, should you want to enjoy it. Hosts super helpful and communicative - definitely book this boat!

    A unique stay in Amsterdam.

My wife and I have visited Amsterdam 4-5 times and wanted something special for our wedding anniversary, and staying on the boat was perfect for our needs and met all our expectations. Great location and cosy. Wonderful to sit on deck and just relax, even if you are smack in the middle of the city. Highly recommended.

Some Good, Some Not So Good

We spent 4 nights on the Tulip VIP. First the good - the location is great with so many things in walking distance and there are nice views from the deck. The hosts that assisted us were very kind and tried to be helpful, allowing us to store our luggage before 3pm check in and leaving cookies due to issues we experienced. The not so good was the walls with various stains (particularly near the bed -old food? Dirt? Blood? I don't know, but they need to be cleaned or repainted), the bed itself was quite uncomfortable being low grade foam on hard wood that should likely be replaced. We also had an issue with the bathroom lights that didn't work and were unable to be fixed when we were there, the overhead sky lights dripped (I was told just condensation, not a leak, but it still leaked near the bed and we were given extra towels for that). The sound also carries from the other unit on the boat. For two nights the banging an voices from the other unit disturbed us. Overall I'm glad we tried staying on the houseboat, but I wouldn't do it again.

    Peace and quiet in Amsterdam

We had a lovely stay on Nina's houseboat. Situated in the heart of Amsterdam, it was easy to get wherever we wanted to go and lovely to come back to the peace and quiet of the boat.
