Welcome to your stay

A unique experience in a spacious and luxury room on a newly renovate houseboat on a superb location. The room is equipped with a gorgeous bathroom and a comfortable bed. Enjoy a tasty yoghurt-muesli-fruit breakfast in the morning in this private and authentic space on the Eastern Docklands in Amsterdam (KNSM-Island). Close to the city centre and yet peaceful and quit. You'll have your own entrance and a nice sun deck to enjoy the view.

Our B&B is part of an original cargo ship completely renovated in 2018 to a luxury houseboat.

Explore your stay

The spacious room is suitable for maximum two persons. Completely furnished with a kitchenette for coffee, tea and breakfast. A table with two chairs give you the opportunity to relax. In our quality double bed youll get a good night sleep and wonderful dreams on the little waves of the canal. The bathroom is romantic and luxurious, we provide organic shampoo and body wash. The breakfast is included and is a combination of muesli, yoghurt and fresh fruit. Healthy and nutritious which you can prepare whenever youre ready.

The room is situated in the front of our ship with a private entrance and your own sundeck. To get into the room you follow the staircase after the hatch. So be careful, not suitable for disabled people. Youre our only guests so privacy and comfort guaranteed.
We try to be as climate-neutral as possible. Powered by water heat pump, solar panels and solar water heater. Heating with underfloor heating, very comfortable. And we use mainly ecological products.

How to get there

Our floating B&B is situated on the KNSM-Island, a peninsula just around the corner of the beautiful old town of Amsterdam. You’ll enjoy the peace and quietness after a day of busy sightseeing. Within 15 minutes you’ll bike to the middle of town or take a tram / bus around the corner that will take you there in a short ride.

The Park and Ride where you can park your car for a good price is just a few stops away with the tram. Public transport will take you anywhere from here. Tram 7 is the best line to explore the whole of Amsterdam and it just stops around the corner.

About the area

In summertime you’ll find locals swimming in the harbor and so can you! Nearby you’ll find a place to rent a SUP board for example or you can always ask us if you want some information about boat rides on the canal. Within walking distance there's an excellent and cosy harbor café/restaurant and a vegan restaurant option. Besides a bakery and some fine shops on the island you’ll find close by a shopping center with a supermarket and other stores.

Creative, innovative, communicative and always in for a good laugh. Together with my partner Xander we host our B&B on our houseboat in Amsterdam. We loved designing and renovated this place just recently. And we were very proud to be announced as the houseboat of the year according to the public vote in 2018. It's the best way of living in Amsterdam and it feels almost everyday as being on holiday. Together with ship cat Eddie we're looking forward to welcome you!

    It was a dream to stay on "Levantus" . The description of the accommodation was 100% accurate, and Roy and Xander were always there to listen to us, but without being intrusive. Perfect! Staying on a houseboat was a special experience compared to the usual hotel on city breaks. I had been warned in advance that houseboats can sometimes have a musty smell. That's not the case on "Levantus" at all! The space is very well maintained.

    “This was one of our best city-holiday experiences ever. Xander and Roy are the perfect hosts, the information they gave were all very helpful, their reactivity immediate to any demand.     Perfect stay!

    Thanks to Roy and Xander we had the perfect stay. The houseboat is beautiful and Roy and Xander made it a home! In the mornings we took a dive into the River, during the day we discovered Amsterdam and at night we slept like babies in a very spacey and comfy bed. Thank you!

    Peace and quiet, close to city centre

    We really enjoyed our stay here. Xander was an extremely helpful host. Travelling in and out of the city was easy, and lovely to come back to a calm and relaxing environment. Would highly recommend.

    Wonderful studio, wonderful ship, wonderful hosts!

    Staying at the house boat was one of our favorite experiences to date. Xander and Roy have been wonderful hosts. They have welcomed us to Amsterdam with open arms. We loved the little personal welcome sign on the boat, the wine, fresh flowers and fruits. We had everything we needed to get us started in the morning. Great coffee maker, milk steamer and hot water boiler. We never slept so good with the boat just gently rocking at times. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck in the evening having a glass of wine and planing the adventures for the next day. I also enjoyed a swim in the canal. The boat can easily be reached from Centraal station by bus. A bakery, supermarket, and restaurants are within walking distance.
