This was in an absolutely great location. A quiet area but close enough to walk to the busier areas. 10/15 min stroll along the canal to Central Station, the main city, the famous Red Light district. There is a fab supermarket 200m away. The world famous Gassan Diamond building is right behind the houseboat offering free guided tours of how they make the diamonds. The houseboat is compact and bijou but has everything you could need for a stay. The view of the canal with the huge opening windows is superb and tranquil with a few water birds and boats going by. Using the app “around me” found 2 sensational restaurants that we pre-booked while we were there, “The seafood bar” & “Hemelse Modder”. The communication with Maria, the owner, was faultless. Would we stay here again………. Absolutely! Wouldn’t even look to stay anywhere else in Amsterdam next time after staying here. *****

Mariela is a wonderful host and has an unbelievably beautiful property. We sat with the door open to the canal the majority of the trip just staring. The unit has everything you need for an affordable price, and I would highly recommend to anyone to book this property as it was a highlight of our trip.

We, a couple from Berlin (55 and 56) have already made many city trips, but we have not yet had accommodation, such as with Mariela and her husband. A perfect houseboat apartment, small, super cozy, but with a wonderful view. The houseboat is super centrally located on the Oudeschans in front of a 5 star luxury hotel and you can see great canal houses from your bed. At the same time, the canal is wide enough so that the passing boats have a comfortable distance.

In the evening, with the large casement windows open, it is just wonderful to sit there and look. Happy with a glass of wine. We explored Amsterdam on foot, which works very well because the houseboat is centrally located. You can go shopping just around the corner in case the cold wine runs out. The interior is completely new, we were the second guests! Many thanks for the beautiful days Bettina and Thomas. We can only recommend the boat! PS: Especially under the adverse corona conditions in Amsterdam (as everywhere) it is great to be able to live so separated and yet in the middle of it.

Great location, very well maintained and nicely decorated!

Maria was the consummate host, welcoming us upon our arrival. The houseboat is very comfortably furnished and is impeccably clean. It has a fabulous view of the canal and housing across the canal.
