How to get there

From central station you can walk to the B&B (about 10/15 minutes) or just take the metro (only 1 stop) and walk another few minutes (this takes you about 6 minutes in total). Super easy!

About the area

It is located around the corner of the Waterloo Square, 300 meters from the red light district and the wonderful Binnen-IJ area, Nemo science museum and lots of wonderful old and new architecture.

Since it's one of the oldest areas of Amsterdam, you can really sense the historical value of this location. Lots of points of interest are within walking distance, yet it is a quiet and relaxed area without tourist masses.

    Houseboat in Amsterdam

We had a great stay on Maria's boat. She was very responsive on check-in and greeted us to get us settled in. The house was well equipped, very comfortable for our stay, in a great location, and the view is absolutely amazing. Would 100% recommend staying here.

    The Perfect Cozy Houseboat Experience

An absolutely charming, clean and magical little retreat on the water that’s super quiet and quaint yet steps away from it all. Perfect for 1-2 people and would recommend to anyone wanting an affordable houseboat experience!

    Outstanding Houseboat, Great Location

Exactly as described. Perfect views. Small but cozy and functional space. Friendly ducks right nearby. Lots of hot water, good climate control, all in good order. Highly recommend!

Nice little apartment on a houseboatShow original

We had a wonderful weekend at Maria's houseboat. The room was clean and sufficiently comfortable. You couldn't cook, but who would want to during such a short stay in a city with what felt like 10,000 restaurants and bars.

The bathroom is quite comfortable for such a small houseboat apartment. The bed was comfortable for us, only a second duvet could have been provided, although the one that was there was very large and all in all adequate. With the key came a customer card from Albert Hein, which gave us discounts when we went shopping; that was really a nice touch.

Maria welcomed us warmly, showed us everything and then we didn't see her again until we left. We liked the most the passing tourist ships, to which we could wave at the open window while getting out of bed in the morning and toast to them with a beer while sitting in front of the window in the evening. We were able to catch many an envious but always happy look...

The boat is otherwise in a very quiet location, although it is only a few meters from the Nieuwmarkt and it is also not far from the Rembandtplain. Almost everything is within walking distance. We will definitely come back here again!
