Explore your stay

Our location
The houseboat is located in a quiet side canal of the IJ River and moored on a peaceful dike with many other houseboats. On the other side of the dike lies the Wilmkebreekpolder, a unique natural area in the heart of Amsterdam. The free NDSM Wharf ferry is a 25-minute walk or a 5-minute bike ride away. It takes you directly to Central Station. Public transport is a 15-minute walk away, and the city center is a 25-minute journey.

If you'd like to explore the quintessential Dutch landscape, with its expansive green fields and charming waterways, our houseboat is the perfect choice. It's also fun to explore the small villages in the area by bike. The Zaanse Schans, a World Heritage site with its iconic windmills, is also within easy reach.

Good night's sleep
Our guests appreciate our location because we're close to the city center, yet away from the noisy tourist crowds in our neighborhood. This guarantees a wonderful night's sleep in the comfortable double bed. For hygiene reasons, we use a combined duvet and pillowcase.
You will certainly enjoy the aquatic life during your stay like a 'local'.

Room
After returning from the city, you can either relax in your room or enjoy our garden. Sliding doors in your room also allow you to sit on our floating terrace. You can also use our pedal boat to explore the canal. In the summer months, you can swim in the canal, as many locals do. Naturally, we offer all the luxuries you would expect from a comfortable room: underfloor heating, fast Wi-Fi, a refrigerator, kettle, coffee maker, egg cooker, television/radio, and a private entrance.

We use a duvet and cover in one for hygiene reasons.

Breakfast
Breakfast is included in the price and is served in your room in DIY (Do It Yourself) style so you can enjoy it at your own time.

Paid parking
Paid parking will be in effect on our dike from November 17, 2025

Neighbourhood
We have a good relationship with our neighbors and would like to maintain it. Therefore, we ask for your cooperation in this regard. While staying at our B&B is a celebration, we are not a party venue. So, please refrain from loud music or discussions in our garden.

We hope we've given you the best possible impression of our floating B&B, but please don't hesitate to ask any questions you may have. We're happy to help!

    What a lovely place

If you want to discover Amsterdam AND enjoy some harmony and silence after the day in the city the houseboat of Roelie in the north of Amsterdam is perfect for you. You can feel the love of the owner in this houseboat - it has charme, is clean and there‘s everything you need on it. You can reach the centre of Amsterdam by foot or by bike if you use the (free) NDSM ferry. Thank you Roelie for an amazing time on your houseboat in this wonderful city!!

Delightful little room; just what we needed

We recently stayed on Roelie's houseboat and the pictures on this website do not do it justice. It is cozy but not too small; it's the perfect size for two people. We did not see Roelie other than at the start and end of the trip and when she restocked the linens and breakfast items, which is exactly what we want as far as hosts go. When we did see her she was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very Dutch i.e. fresh and healthy with plenty of meat and cheese. We only realised we could probably have hired bikes from her when we read the other reviews but we hired bikes from Mac Bikes in the center so that wasn't a problem. We would stay here again if ever we got the chance.

    Lovely stay at Roelie's houseboat

The accommodation was very cozy and welcoming, situated away from the city's hustle and bustle, in a quiet green area. It is very easy to get to the city center by bike or bus. We also had the opportunity to use Rolie's paddle boat across the channel, which was a very unique experience! Roelie was very responsive and attended to our needs, she was also kind enough to pick us up from the ferry and take us to the accommodation the day we arrived :)
