Houseboat summary
Unique modern studio in our houseboat located in the green. A hidden and cherished place of Amsterdammers. Everything is within reach. Walk, bike or take public transportation into or out of the city. We are happy to receive guests who want to discover the best of Amsterdam, such as museums, restaurants, architecture, parks, terraces, etc.
Our houseboat is located in a quiet area and at the same time there are many restaurants and cafes within walking distance. It is also possible to walk into the woods from the studio after a day in the busy city or take a dip in the Schinkel.
We only rent our studio to guests of which at least one person is 23 years or older.
The studio was designed in collaboration with interior architect Steven Baart (Typography Interiority & Other Serious Matters) and built by the owners themselves.
Houseboat description
Studio of 28m2. In the middle of the room is a block that you can walk around. Here is the bathroom with toilet, shower and sink. At the rear is the sleeping area with a view of the water. A wonderfully comfortable 'queen size' box-spring bed is waiting for you. You can relax in the front area with a view of the garden. If necessary, the futon chair can be changed into a single bed for a third person.

About the area
Our houseboat is situated in the greenest part of the city – a treasured place by ‘Amsterdammers’. 8-12 minutes from both the City center as ‘het Amsterdamse Bos’ (the Amsterdam Forest) which makes it perfect if you want to explore the city as well as if you want to unwind a bit from what the city has to offer.
Close to Old West, a great neighborhood with some of the best restaurants and terraces.

I have been living on this houseboat with my wife and two daughters for 26 years. Since our daughters started living on their own, we started building a studio to receive guests.
After two years of construction, we have been ready to receive guests since mid-July. Both my wife and I were born and raised in Amsterdam. We are happy to share our knowledge about Amsterdam with our guests.
