Romantic stay in the heart of Amsterdam, everything is within walking distance, many restaurants and shops in the direct environment.
But the canal itself is calm and quiet in the evening. A great place to get away from it all with your sweetheart and to enjoy watching the passing boats on deck with a good glass of wine.
This Romantic Houseboat is an antique boat converted in to a small but very comfortable apartment. The style of the house can only be described as uncluttered 'old Amsterdam' style.
Located in the center everything can be walked from here, the boat is 15 min walk from central station.
Only five minutes walk from Dam Square, and 15 from Central Station. The boat is surrounded by many restaurants, cafes, bars, Rembrandt Square, Nieuwmarkt, Waterlooplein and markets (Waterlooplein) Amsterdam's Stopera (the principal opera house) are all in view from the apartment which means that even a spontaneous stroll through the neighborhood could turn most exiting.
As its a boat you get to see Amsterdam from a very unique perspective and truly enjoy the canals in a romantic way. Street musicians do choose to perform near the market due to it's creative nature so it is possible you would find yourself waking up to the sound of violins.
The boat is 100 years old witch means it’s antic, romantic and very quite. It’s not a 5 star hotel room what makes it very cosy. There are also 2 cats on board.
Feeding the ducks in the morning is really nice to do.

What can I say about Lydia and the houseboat? It was exactly what we were looking for. Lydia is an amazing host, so welcoming and only happy to help with any number of questions, recommendations for things to do or places to eat... and she's a decent nurse too. 😉 The location of the boat is unbelievable and walking distance to all the major tourist spots. Has everything you need onboard. We really couldn't have asked for more.

Great location and the atmosphere we were looking for
Lydia is a very gracious host. She was very accommodating and there if you needed her. We had wine waiting on us and enjoyed many hours on deck watching the boats go by. It is a 15min walk to almost everything you would want to see. It is a quiet little neighborhood with an awesome cafe on the corner. They set up a market across the canal during the week. The boat is 100 years old with lots of character. It was very cozy and relaxing. If you are the type that wants to stay in a 5 star Waldorf Astoria then this isn’t for you. If your looking for cozy, clean and relaxing that is a short walk to everything this is the place. Lydia is awesome and we enjoyed her cats coming around occasionally. If we make it back to Amsterdam we will definitely stay again.

We had a wonderful two days on Lydia’s 100 year old houseboat on a quiet canal in Amsterdam. It was close to the center and restaurants and grocery stores. Lydia is a lovely, friendly owner and we had much fun with her and her two black Cats!! Keep it up Lydia.
