Welcome to your stay

Have a unique holiday in Amsterdam by staying on a traditional motor-ship from 1915.

Explore your stay

Our ship is located in the popular old harbour of Amsterdam, 30 minutes by foot to the centre of the city. It will take you around 10-15 min to go to the city centre by bus 43 or tram 7.
It's situated in a quiet and relaxed location with a few restaurants, cafe's, two supermarkets and some shops nearby. There is no weed-shop close by!
You will have many possibilities to explore the city of Amsterdam and beyond. Our ship lies in a charming and peaceful area, therefore it's the perfect place to retreat and to recover!

You will stay in the authentic cabin (1915), the rear of the ship, the owner stays in the former cargo space of the ship. You will sleep in the authentic bunk, but also enjoy the modern bathroom with a shower. There is WiFi, TV and a coffee machine. You enter the ship via the wheelhouse and reach the studio (17m²) on the left site by stairs. In the wheelhouse there is a washing machine and a dryer for eventually use.

In the summer you can enjoy of a swim right here outside the ship. Just jump over board, the water is clean.

I'm sure you will enjoy your stay at my place.

How to get there

If you come by plane take the train to Central Station and then the bus number 43 direction Borneo-Eiland. Get out at Azartplein. Just walk to Levantkade in 3 minutes. Walking on Levantkade take the jetty on your right side. You will see the number 42 of our ship in the wheelhouse.

If you come by train just follow the description above from Central Station.

If you take the car you can park on public spots right on the street. Please notice that parking is €4,50 per hour (€40,50 per day) in Amsterdam. You can better take the P&R Zeeburg and take the tram 26 from there to Rietlanden (1 station) and step over to tram 10 (two stations to Azartplein).

About the area

Our houseboat is located in a historic part of Amsterdam, the Amsterdam Docklands, from where in ancient days the cargo-ships used to sail to the East. Nowadays, this area has been transformed into a picturesque architectonic quarter where the living is easy, with all the facilities you may need like: pubs, restaurants and a shopping centre.

We had a few great days on the houseboat and in Amsterdam. The houseboat is super cozy, clean and just something different, nice and quiet and cosy with other boats. However, it's not suitable for people who are taller than 1.80 m 😉, as the ceiling height is low. There is a bus and tram station right at the pier, so the center is just a few stops away.

    Great place to stay!

We were really pleased with our stay on Alpha. The rear cabin is finished and maintained really well, and the bathroom is modern and clean. It's so nice to be able to sit above deck as well. Oliver was really friendly and flexible. The boat is in a great location, right next to a tram/bus stop, from which you can get to most anywhere in the city. My only complaint would be that the pillows in the bed were quite thin and uncomfortable.

The other thing I'd want to make potential bookers aware of: the ceiling is quite low! I am 6'1", and there were only two spots in the cabin where I could stand up straight. I didn't mind it, and the bed was plenty long enough too, but just something to bear in mind that isn't mentioned on the listing.

    Lovely stay

We really enjoyed our stay in the boat house. It has everything you need for a city break. The tram/bus stop is very close by, you could walk into the centre but we preferred to use the transport. Would definitely recommend staying here.
