We love to welcome you aboard our newly renovated boutique houseboat cabin. When designing this apartment in the front of our houseboat, we kept in mind that where you sleep, should be a part of the Amsterdam experience. The result is a spacious yet cosy, private and comfortable place you may call your home for a few days. Our ship is docked directly on the local swimming pond in the wonderful Eastern Docks, famous for its wide views, modern architecture and great swimming in summer. The city is just a few minutes away thanks to good public transport connections. We warmly welcome families with up to two kids.
Now let us tell you something about the boutique cabin. You have access to a bright 3-room apartment, measuring 35 sqm. The place has high ceilings and includes a living room with kitchenette, bathroom and bedroom.
We offer high speed wi-fi, and in the living room there is a Chrome cast 42 digital TV and sound system for streaming your Netflix and Spotify. Thanks to the floor heating and good ventilation you are assured to enjoy a comfortable climate all year round. Furthermore there is a sofa bed for two kids to sleep.
In the kitchenette you will find a micro wave, tea kettle, a Nespresso machine and refrigerator with freezer for preparing light meals (note: no cooking). The bathroom is nicely finished with modern fittings, thermostatic taps, shower with unlimited hot water, hairdryer, towels and hand soap. In the bedroom we offer a comfortable double bed, a cupboard and suitcase rack.
Our ship is moored on KNSM island that is part of the Eastern Docklands of Amsterdam. Merchants and world travellers used to depart from here to the East Indies, the United States and Surinam. Today KNSM island is known for its modern architecture, interior design shops and waterside cafes. Take your breakfast with commuters in Bakkerswinkel Neeltje, drink a beer with locals in Cafe De Zuid or dine with Dutch celebrities at the Harbour Club.

How to get there
Getting here by plane/train: we recommend taking the train into Amsterdam Central Station. Walk to the busdeck north of the station and take bus 48 toward Borneo Eiland at platform C. Get off at Azartplein (5th stop) and walk 5m (400m) eastward along the Levantkade.
Getting here by by car: we recommend to first drop your bags and then to park cheap at Park and Ride Zeeburg. Of course we will share more elaborate details once you have made the booking.
About the area
Our houseboat is moored on KNSM island that is part of the Eastern Docklands of Amsterdam. Merchants and world travellers used to depart from here to the East Indies, the United States and Surinam. It is a pleasure inviting you on our Coaster Mado. Living on a boat gives us a holiday feeling year round, which we would like to share with you. During the day we are busy with work and our kids are at school, but we are happy to answer any question before and during your stay.

Fantastic experience!!! Show originalShow original
We had an incredibly fantastic stay. ❤️ We had planned and designed it as a surprise for our children (ages nine and eleven). The enthusiastic faces on arrival that we will not be staying in a house were unique. Nothing was missing and the location was perfect for sightseeing tours etc.!
Supermarkets and restaurants are also within walking distance. The kids loved jumping in the swimming area right in front of the boat every day. 🏊♀️ The owners were incredibly open, helpful and hospitable, so we hope to see them again. Thank you Sander!!!! 😀

The stay was fantastic
The owners are really kind and helpful people. They gave us all kind of tips for shops, e.g. bike rental, and lists with the best restaurants and activities to do in Amsterdam.
Our own (steep) entrance gave us all the privacy we needed and allowed us to enter and leave the boat whenever we wanted.
The boat itself was in a good shape, the cabin is perfect for two people and smoking in the boat was allowed too. Close to the boat is a concrete football field so you can bring a ball if you want. Unfortunately we didn’t managed to swim but we saw a few people swim and the water looked really good and clear.
All in all I can just recommend the boat and if you visit Amsterdam I can recommend to rent a bike. It’s the best way to get anywhere in the city and driving to the city will give you a beautiful view over the canal.

Super nice and modern houseboat Show originalShow original
We were in Amsterdam over the long weekend of Corpus Christi. The houseboat is lovingly and modernly furnished. We immediately felt very comfortable. Communication with the owners was also quick and easy. Always my pleasure!
