Brueghel - Super Central Houseboat
Picture yourself aboard a houseboat, just 3 minutes walking from Central Station...
- Lovely 2-person houseboat studio
- Just 3 minutes walking from central station
- Close to the Red Light District, Dam Square etc
- Cool nautical elements + terrace
- Private entrance
I welcome you aboard this charming private studio on my houseboat, built in 1907 and docked just 3 minutes walking from Central Station. Lots of interesting places are found around the corner, such as the Red Light District, Dam Square, Nieuwmarkt and the Maritime Museum. Still, our harbor is surprisingly quiet and easy going. No tourist masses, just locals living their happy lives. Be one of them!
The studio is a wonderful getaway for couples who are looking for a charming, clean and cozy -from-home. There is a comfortable double bed, as well as a lounge corner. Here you will find a sofa that can be turned into a sleeping couch, in case you are traveling with a friend and prefer to sleep apart. The studio is newly decorated but still has some nice original details, such as the portholes and the wooden 100 year old roof panels.
Furthermore there is a kitchenette with a sink and coffee maker. You won’t miss the cooking facilities because of the many great and affordable restaurants within walking distance of the houseboat. A great place to have your first coffee in the morning is the terrace in front of the boat. Here you can enjoy the scenery around the boat, with the wonderful historic houses on one side and the old harbor on the other side.
Last but not least there is also a bathroom with shower and sink.
Now something about the location. The houseboat is docked in a very nice laid back city centre harbor, close to the Central Station. You will find the Jordaan Area on the West side, and the Waterloo Square and Rembrand Square to the South. All the other parts of town are very easy to reach with public transport, and of course by bike. There is a bike rental just around the corner.
Note that the boat is fully equipped with central heating, so you are assured to be comfortably warm all year round. Your apartment has a private entrance and you don't need to share anything with anyone. On request I can arrange VIP Services to make your stay even more unforgettable.
Hope to have given you the best possible impression, but don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions - always glad to help!

The boat is docked super central, yet you are assured to have a good night rest thanks to the quiet location. A unique combination!
How to get there
Just walk 3 minutes to the East and you will see our harbor right away. Could not be easier.
About the area
Our harbor is one of the oldest in Amsterdam and you can still feel the rich history thanks to the many old ships and the wonderful houses across the street. Although we live pretty much in the middle of town, you will be surprised by the quietness our quay has to offer. The reason it is a dead end where only people who live here come.
The following places are located within a few minutes walking:
* Central Station
* Zeedijk and Red Light District
* Nieuwmarkt (great bars, restaurants and terraces)
* Hannekes Boom (unique bar with amazing outside terrace, great bears and good food)
* Pollux (really laid back bar, right across the street)
* Nemo Science Museum
* Maritime Museum with a replica of the VOC Ship 'Amsterdam'
* Dam Square
I live on one of the most wonderful location in Amsterdam, and love you to stay here too!

Cozy room at a central location
The boat is a short walk from Amsterdam Centraal. The city center and also the area around Nemo Science Museum are all within short walking distance. The apartment is sufficient for 2-3 people, cozy and even offers a kitchen with coffee machine and fridge. We decided to have our breakfast on the boat.
Last not least, thanks to Casper for the nice reception and the continuously very friendly and nice support! We will recommend the place!

Highly recommended houseboat near the station
There is basically only one downside to this little love nest, and that is that you will have to leave at one point. We - that is my boyfriend and I - felt at home as soon as we set foot aboard, warmly welcomed by the owner who lives in the same ship. But that will be the only time you aware of this. During your stay you have all the privacy in the world and you will soon feel like a real sailor. The original ceiling, I believe over a hundred years old, and the porthole give this ship real character. And the location is just astonishing. Only minutes away from the station, yet super quiet at night. We could not believe that this was possible right in the city centre of Amsterdam - what a find, good value for money! Thanks a million and lots of love from Birmingham!

Unique stay in great location
My 13 year old son and I loved staying here. The studio is compact but very comfortable and perfectly equipped. Best of all, the location is quiet but just a few minutes walk from all the action. Highly recommend!

Wonderful, clean and superb located studio
Me and my wife stayed here during our visit to Amsterdam. We could not believe to find such a gem so close to the central station (it is really no more than a few minutes walking). Wonderful host, superb location and very easy to get around. It is not huge, but all the amenities for a convenient stay are there. Good shower, small kitchenette (no cooking, but who wants to cook whith so much great restaurants nearby?) and a comfortable couch to chill out after a long day in town. Loved the original details, such as the roof panels and the portholes - enjoyed every minute of our stay! The only downside is that you have to leave it one day ;-)

Would stay here again
Our stay at the Vermeer Houseboat studio was a surprise for my fiancee and she totally loved the place - so we're still getting married ;-) The place is very clean and comfortable. Although the ship is docked very close to main attractions such as the red light district and the station, the location is very quiet and peaceful. The host was very welcoming and friendly and showed us where the best places to eat and drink were (make sure to visit bar Pollux, very unique and easy going!) So when you're looking for a cosy, centrally located and clean place, this is a safe bet for sure. Thanks for having us!
