Houseboat summary
We would like to welcome you on board for a unique stay in the captain's cabin of our historic ship De Hoop. Once an active cargo boat that transported goods and supplies along the Dutch waterways, De Hoop is currently enjoying her well deserved retirement and one hundredth birthday this year, in IJburg, Amsterdam's newest neighbourhood.
De Hoop is perfectly located for those who wish to experience the best of both worlds. During your stay, you’ll wake up with the serenity of the water, whilst also being just a 15 min tram ride from Amsterdam city centre, with its windy canals and huge range of cultural activities. There are also plenty of nature walks to take within the neighbourhood, in case you prefer to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Good to knows
Please note that the ship is not suitable for children of any age.
Please take into consideration that the boat needs to be entered via stairs and narrow gangway.
Depending on the weather and the wind situation, the boat can rock a little including the sound of some characteristic sounds.
We as owners live on the same boat, but in a separate space with separate entrance, staying at this accommodation will be with complete privacy.

You can park for €7.50 per day in a parking garage of the local supermarket, which is a five-minute walk from the boat. On the street you have to pay to park from Monday to Saturday from 9am to 7pm. Parking costs € 3.50 per hour. On Sundays, street parking in the area is free. There are also charging stations for electric cars in the area.
From Schiphol Airport, it will takes 45-50 minutes to reach the boat by train and tram which costs €6.50 each way. By car it will take you depending on the traffic between 20-25 minutes.
About the area
IJburg is a charming, safe and mostly residential neighbourhood which is especially popular for those who enjoy modern architecture and urban design. It's also a perfect location for water sports enthusiasts with options for kayaking, hiking, cycling, windsurfing and paddle boarding amongst others.
