Our houseboat truly feels like a diamond, shining bright in one of the oldest harbors of the city, just three minutes walking from Central Station.

Explore your stay

A true eye-catcher of the watervilla is the rugged steel stairs with an integrated fire place on each floor that seems to grow right through the whole houseboat. Also in the kitchen area, we have used lots of steel and stone to create a cool, tough atmosphere. Yet, the large windows and sliding door let in lots of light. The happy red kitchen table give the whole place a happy touch, putting a broad smile on your face as soon as you enter the boat.

The location is just perfect. When arriving at Central Station it is just a three minute walk before you arrive at the boat. This is a lovely short walk along the water, and it gives a good first impression of our beloved city. On arrival we warmly welcome you aboard 'El Diamante'.

On the top floor you have access to the comfortable and light living room with a sitting and dining area. Go down the stairs to enter another great space. On the lower deck you will find the central room with adjacent large bedroom with large and comfortable double bed. Also this area has lots of windows and portholes, letting in lots of day light. Furthermore there is one extra double bed in the central room.

The bathroom features both a shower and a bathtub. One of the unique aspects of the houseboat is that the bath is located below water level, creating a special atmosphere while you relax after a day exploring Amsterdam.

Last but not least let me tell you something about the area where we live. This stationary houseboat is docked along the quay of a charming, picturesque harbor - literally minutes away from the buzzing city center. Yet the area is nice and quiet at night, without tourist masses passing by. It is a true hidden gem right within the city. Around the corner you find the Amsterdam Central Station, on the other side of the water there is an amazing floating Chinese restaurant, the city library, and the Nemo science museum. Also within a few minutes walking there is the red light district, Nieuwmarkt, Dam Square etc.

From the moment you arrive at Central Station it is just a few minutes walking to reach our houseboat. Of course we will share the exact details after your booking is confirmed. 

About the area

Our neighborhood is defined by one of the oldest harbors of Amsterdam. Not only the harbor, but also the old buildings and of course the red light district are typical locations that belong to a naval hot spot.  

Although the ship is located super central, you will be impressed by the tranquility that is found here. No tourist masses passing by, but a laid back and almost rural atmosphere.

    4 night stay in beautiful Amsterdam

    Everything was so simple right from the start - contact with Bookahouseboat and the host was easy. The boat itself was in a perfect location, 10-minute easy stroll to town and lovely and quiet. It was plenty big enough for 4 of us and the decking out front was the perfect place to chill before dinner and rest our weary feet. The only thing missing on the boat was an ice compartment, but we survived!

    Exceeds Expectations

    This spacious, quirkily wonderful houseboat exceeded our high expectations. Nina was an excellent, prompt communicator. We spent seven glorious nights on the boat and would do it again in a second. We spent hours with the doors and windows open watching the sunsets, the ducks, and enjoying the perfect July breezes. The boat is very well outfitted. There is no dishwasher, but there are plenty of supplies to do a quick wash-up. As with many houseboats, you cannot flush toilet paper, but the relatively sealed bathroom garbage pails and handy outdoor trash can made for easy disposal. The location, right across the water from a supermarket and a quick walk to the train station and all tourist sites, was ideal, central, but perfectly quiet. This was our second houseboat experience, and we loved it. Thank you for a great stay!

    Relaxing stay for a family of four

    We had a great stay for three nights in August. The houseboat provided us with a bit of luxury, after a busy road trip around the Netherlands. We had a very friendly welcome, loved the location and the outside space was terrific!

    Excellent Spring visit to Amsterdam

    This Spring we chose to visit the Netherlands to see family in Amsterdam and make a trip to the famous Keukenhof gardens. We are a family of 4 and typically search for rentable properties. Staying on a houseboat has always been a dream for us and getting to experience it Amsterdam was even more special.

    Nina's houseboat is in a fantastic location that allows you easy access to the train station and walk the city. The place is spacious and more than accommodated our family. The fireplace is also a great add-on that I recommend. WiFi worked great and our host Laura was more than accommodating with all our requests. The views from the boat particularly at night with the lights of the city coming off the water were great. Definitely recommend this place for any families traveling that want a unique Dutch experience!

    Unique stay

    Beautiful city stay made all the better on this boat. It had everything you could need, immaculate and amazing space. The hammock was a bonus, and the outside space was lovely, and evening chill no problem as blankets had been provided by hosts. Thanks for an incredible experience. Loved it.
