El Diamante - Central, spacious and luxurious houseboat

This houseboat lives up to its name. Very nice and luxurious. We felt very comfortable from the first to the last second and would love to come back.

We looked so long and hard for the right accommodation to stay while in Amsterdam. First, we wanted to experience the houseboat living but just couldn’t find a houseboat that felt right for us. Then we looked on AirBnB and couldn’t seem to find any two bedrooms/two baths that didn’t have stairs (we are in our 60’s and 70’s and with more luggage than usual because this is a 3-month journey that involves a couple of cruises starting from the Caribbean and crossing the Atlantic to many European countries with different climates).

There are very few Airbnb properties that meet our needs, not perfect, and not affordable either. Then we decided to book with a hotel and made 5 different hotel reservations at various times which we later canceled because something was just missing. Then we found Nina’s houseboat. The minute we saw the pictures, we knew this was the one and never looked back.

We loved how modern and roomy the living space was. There’s a hammock in front of the patio door that my wife used every day and night while trying to recuperate from a bad case of bronchitis. Something worth mentioning is that the temperature on the lower level where the two beds and a very roomy full bath are located is very cold by our standards coming from the warmer climate of California. The bathroom, though, is nice and warm. All in all, we are very happy with Nina’s houseboat and appreciate her making it available to us. We hope she will make it available to us again if and when we come back to Amsterdam.

This was a great stay! The houseboat looks exactly like the photos. Very relaxing, sitting area/patio right on the water, super quiet... Our host was very communicative and accommodating. We had everything at our fingertips, and the boat truly felt like our home for the entire week we were there. Would love to stay again!

We had a great stay for three nights in August. The houseboat provided us with a bit of luxury, after a busy road trip around the Netherlands. We had a very friendly welcome, loved the location and the outside space was terrific!

The boat was located in a great location and was well appointed. I would stay there again. Only issue was the fact that, due to the bilge black water pump, you couldn't flush toilet paper in the toilet. There is a bidet, however.
