Family houseboat with terrace and canoe

Our stationary houseboat is part of a typical houseboat community in Amsterdam Noord, on the North side of the river IJ. The free ferry takes you right to the inner city centre and is an experience in itself. A few minutes to enjoy the amazing views over the water, with the wind in your hair, getting ready for another exciting day in Amsterdam. And the way back is always a joy as well, we just love to go back home and enjoy the peace and quietness of our floating home, with a good glass of wine and a cold beer waiting to be served in the garden.

Lots of space, both inside and outside

Our split-level houseboat has lots of large windows, creating a very bright and light atmosphere inside. But also outside there is lots of space to enjoy, especially during the summer. On the water front you can chill out on the floating terrace, dive into the canal and get a nice summer tan. On the other side there is the garden with enough shade to be comfortably protected from the sun on the warmer days. This is where you find the hammock, the ultimate chill out place for sure.

Sleeping aboard the houseboat

There are two bedrooms, each with single beds - perfect for the kids. A double bed is found in the living room. We use our own bedroom to store all our personal stuff when we're away, but be assured that sleeping in the living room is a wonderful thing and actually really ads to the experience. The two bedrooms are perfect for kids, so they can sleep comfortably every night while you sit back and relax upstairs or outside. 

Things to do nearby

If you leave the premises, you will see that there is a cool playground around the corner. Kids love to play football, table tennis and basketball here. But also for the smaller kids this is a wonderful place. 

Just around the corner of our place you can discover the NDSM-wharf, a typical hipster hotspot with countless independent companies, restaurants, bars, exciting start-ups, workshops, festivals and expositions. 

And the whole shore of our Northern part of Amsterdam is a buzzing area, with lots of cool things to do. Visit the A'dam Tower (take the swing on the roof for some excitement and amazing views), have lunch in Eye Amsterdam or enjoy yourselves at the really relaxed Tolhuistuin. From here you take the free ferry to Central Station.

To get around there is good public transport, but we always recommend to travel 'Amsterdam style': by bike. There are many bike rentals nearby and you can park your bike on our premises very safe. In our houseboat we do have burglar alarm with clear instructions.
