Now something more about the place itself. The studio offers all the privacy you want, and you don't need to share any space, only the front door, with me. In the studio, you will find a very comfortable double bed from where you have a water view. Furthermore, there is enough closet space and a fan to ensure a cool breeze during hot summer days. The wide windows with sliding doors let in lots of light and give access to a small waterside terrace. A wonderful place to just sit back and relax while the always-changing city views pass by. Now you will feel truly like a real 'Amsterdammer'.

How to get there

The Gailforce One is situated in the Jordaan area.

By Plane: From the airport there is an easy train connection (4 times per hour, only 12 minutes commute) to the Central Station which is about 10 minutes walk from the houseboat.

By Train: 10 minutes walk from the main station

By car: There is a garage nearby where you can park your car. I will share full details after the booking is confirmed.

About the area

Location! Location! Location! That's most important where you are, well the Gaiforce One Houseboat is situated in just about the best and nicest location in Amsterdam. In the very heart of the 18th century old city-centre. If you look outside you have the feeling you find yourself in a 18th century oil painting. All around you there are 3 to 400 year old canal-houses and warehouses. It can't get better than that! It's amazing!

The houseboat is located on the canal-belt in THE JORDAAN, which used to be the poorest area of Amsterdam in the olden days, but is now the most trendy and favoured area by locals and tourists. There is a maze of narrow streets, with many lovely restaurants, pubs and quaint shops. On almost every corner you will find an café with an outdoor terrace, where you can enjoy a drink while watching the hustle and bustle of life on the canals.

In the 17th/18th century Amsterdam was a thriving trading post where ships brought their ware from all over the world to be stored in the warehouses of The Brouwersgracht. These warehouses you still see today and from your window! when staying on The Guest-Houseboat, these are now converted into very popular luxury and trendy loft apartments, sought after by locals and ex-pats.

Apart from the beauty of the area, the houseboat is ideally located for your visits to many of the important sights and a mere 10 minutes walk from the Central Station, would you want to travel outside of Amsterdam to for instance, The Hague (40 minutes by train), Haarlem (15 minutes), Rotterdam(50 minutes) or the airport ( 15 minutes) even the beach is just 20 minutes by train.

    We had the pleasure of spending two nights on the Galeforce One and found it absolutely wonderful. It's a truly unique experience, right in the heart of the beautiful Jordan district, with boats gliding by... We spent our evenings sitting on the charming terrace; it was simply magical. Patricia was incredibly kind and attentive to us via email, and everything went perfectly. Thank you for the fantastic time we had on this lovely houseboat. We highly recommend it to everyone.

    Always wanted to experience Amsterdam from a houseboat. Got to see other boats passing by. Patricia’s houseboat is lovely and there are lots of restaurants and grocery stores nearby.

    We stayed on the houseboat for 2 nights over Ascension Day. The small terrace was very nice, we drank our coffee there in the morning right next to the water. It was generally a smaller room, but everything you needed was there and you could quickly walk to all the highlights of the city. A nice houseboat experience :)

    It was everything I hoped for. Brilliant stay on a gorgeous houseboat. Really comfortable and well appointed. Patricia stayed in good contact throughout. So wonderful staying on one of, if not, the most beautiful of all the canals. A bucket list item for sure. Just magic!

    Fabulous location

    We had a lovely stay on Galeforce One, where the location was perfect for our first visit to Amsterdam. Close to restaurants, supermarkets, cheese stores, and opposite local pubs, but far enough away from the tourist mayhem.

    Staying in winter gave us a different perspective, and it will be nice to return in a warmer season to experience Galeforce One at another time. Patricia was an amazing host who was welcoming with a nice bottle of wine and flexible when we needed a short delay to our departure.

    The houseboat was super clean and provided tea and coffee making facilities, along with a microwave and fridge. We would recommend a stay here at any time of the year.
