Galeforce One - Jordaan houseboat studio

We absolutely loved our stay on this little studio houseboat in Amsterdam. Sitting out on the patio, watching the boats drift by, was such a peaceful and unique experience. The location is perfect—right in one of the best parts of the city, surrounded by amazing restaurants with outdoor seating. While the Central metro station is about a 15-minute walk, we hardly used it because everything was easily walkable from the houseboat. The studio is compact, but the view makes it more than worth it. The reflections on the water are just beautiful. We would definitely recommend this special place!

Stayed in this houseboat in 2016, and at that time, there were two separate doors (after the main exterior door). Booked again based on that prior experience. But this time, after the exterior door, there is a curtain that separates Patricia’s side from the guest side, then the bathroom door locks, but the bathroom is not connected to the bedroom, so you have to exit the bedroom, go into the hallway (only separated by a curtain) to access the bathroom. This is a major safety issue, and if Patricia was a man, or if I was traveling solo, it would have really been a problem of feeling safe. Also, the thermostat was adjusted during our stay, so when we returned, it was very cold. We stayed for our entire booking because I traveled with my husband, who eased my concerns about the bedroom/bathroom separation. But I hope that Patricia installs a proper door in the hallway for future guests.

Hi Nathalie, I am sad that you were obviously disappointed with the houseboat situation based on your previous experience. However, this does not deserve a 2-star review, as you could have seen by the pictures and descriptions in the ad that the situation is different than before. Unfortunately, we are bound by strict city council rules and had to change the layout of the B&B.

If you would have mentioned that you stayed with me before when you made the reservation, I would have made you aware that the layout is different in the houseboat because of the rules. I have the feeling that you were just so happy to book again, as everybody is (by looking at most 5-star reviews), and you maybe failed to check out the picture properly and did not read the text. Otherwise, you would have seen a difference and would have reached out to me with questions. It surprised me anyway that you never mentioned this during your reservation that you have stayed with me before. This is an unfortunate situation and could have avoided disappointment and an unfair review, in my opinion.

That was a fantastic experience! It was our first time on a houseboat, and in beautiful Amsterdam no less. The boat had everything we needed – plenty of space, comfortable, perfect! Our host, Patricia, took care of everything immediately whenever I had a question, and in the end, she even helped me find and ship my backpack, which I'd left in the parking garage. Thank you so, so much! ❤️

We spend some beautiful days there, very good location. Only a few footsteps from the centre of Amsterdam

The proximity to the Jordaan is great, and the small, cozy balcony invites you to linger. Everything was very pleasant.
