Historic Dutch Barge near Central Station

We have tried to keep the soul of this over 100-year old ship alive. Not only by preserving the original layout and warm wooden timber work, but also by putting lots of love and care into the interior of the space.

We live on the front of the ship, but this part is separated from the guest home - so you will have all the privacy in the world. Good old fashioned hospitality is of paramount importance to us and we truly wish to offer a total experience to our guests.

This experience starts with the ship itself. You enter in the large wheelhouse, a magnificent place with panoramic views all over our beloved harbor. Position yourself behind the wheel, watch the other traditional ships around you and you will feel like a true captain right away. This is also a wonderful place to enjoy your first cup of coffee while the city awakens or have a drink after a day in the buzzing city centre- moments never to forget.

Go down using the stairs and you will enter the living space with a dining table, chairs and a small but convenient kitchenette where you can prepare coffee and tea. We do not offer cooking facilities, but with so many bars and restaurants within a few minutes walking (foodies will love it here!) we're pretty sure that you won't miss this at all. 

Adjacent to the living area you will find the sleeping area, a charming and cozy bedstead that really adds something special to the nautical experience. The high quality mattress and tranquility at night ensure a great night rest. Also when sitting in the wheelhouse or outside on the deck you will enjoy the quietness of our harbor. Yet you are literally around the corner from lots of major hotspots. 

So let's have a closer look at the location. Of course there is the Jordaan Area right across the wonderful canal houses, the Anne Frank House, Westertoren, the wonderful Westerpark and plentiful superb restaurants, bars and boutique shops.

Walk to the East and you find Central Station, Dam Square, the Amstel and the red light district within walking distance. 

And last but not least there are the free ferries that take you to the rapidly developing Northern part of Amsterdam, with its already famous A'dam Tower, the filmmuseum (great place for wining and dining while enjoying the views over the IJ River!) and the NDSM-Wharf, a cultural hotbed with many festivals, markets and other events.

Good public transport takes you to every other corner of the city within 30 minutes, so the Museum Square, Artis Zoo etc are never far away.

Therefore we think it is safe to say that our houseboat is the perfect starting point to discover the city - and maybe an even better place to return to.
