How to get there

Amsterdam Airport is close to the city, it will take 20 minutes by taxi. The train will run 4x an hour and takes you 15 minutes and walking from the station about 10/15 minutes to the houseboat.

About the area

The area is ‘the Jordaan’. There is a twice weekly market/farmers market just opposite and around the corner of the houseboat. Many restaurants, cafes, outdoor terrasses and shops around. Many sights close by. Supermarket and gocery stores very close. The famous Haarlemmerdijk is just 200 meters away. It is a very happy, fun loving, bustling area and yet not as busy as other parts of Amsterdam. Sometimes the canal looks and feels like a 18th century fishing village.

What a privilege to live here!

Just a quick review from the airport before we head back to DownUnder ;-) Thanks for having us, and big thumbs up for the love and work you have put into your floating home. We are grateful to have stayed in your houseboat for a few days and will never forget the tranquility, the great neighborhood and the experience of living on the water in general. Highly recommended!

    Amazing Amsterdam houseboat experience

Our trip to Amsterdam was given a silver lining thanks to this wonderful houseboat apartment. The floating home is docked right in the city centre, in the area called Jordaan, and you truly will feel like a true local within one or two hours after arriving here. Watching the ducks swim by, the swans peeking into your room, the reflection of the water on the ceiling - all this was truly amazing. The apartment itself is very comfortable, clean and well attended for. Thanks for having us and hope to see you again some day - love you!

    Great stay in Amsterdam

Amsterdam is an amazing city. We stayed for 1 night at great hotel close to dam square.  We opted to spend our last 2 nights in Amsterdam onboard The Houseboat Blue Water. I’m so glad we did.  The houseboat was just as it appears in the pictures.  It’s in the historic Jordaan section of Amsterdam. Cute cafes and amazing boutiques are within walking distance.  I had the best sleep ever onboard the houseboat. Sitting out on the bench on the back patio you can watch the ever changing scenery of various boat traffic along the canal. It was definitely an experience not to be missed.

    Fantastic, FANTASTIC, FANTASTIC!!!

The communication and process before arriving were simple and informed with a friendly bias, which was Fantastic.

The greeting was again good information, friendly and Fantastic.

As we explored on the first evening it was brilliant to find we were in the center of a relaxed but happening area with relaxed busy bars and restaurants. With a delightfully simple walk to the center of Amsterdam to see the sights at night and the sights by day.

The first morning we had a relaxed breakfast with delicious local bread and orange juice from the Saturday market. Reading through the folder of information it was clear someone cared about their city and the occupants' time there. This was beautiful to see.

The accommodation is exactly what we wanted. Think relaxed upmarket hotel without all the pomp and hassle of a walk to the room. Made for a really special stay. Thank you.

I cannot recommend it highly enough.

    FANTASTIC!!!

    Can't beat this location!

You really can't beat the location of this houseboat! Jordaan is a vibrant, quaint and beautiful neighborhood that is a little quieter and a little more local than the busier parts of Amsterdam.
