Houseboat summary
Giving you the best houseboat experience possible and creating everlasting memories, that's our mission. We do so by showing old fashioned hospitality, serving a great European breakfast and offering free bikes to use during your stay. You have access to the great wheelhouse overlooking our harbor and the apartment in the back of the ship. Although my husband and I live aboard the same vessel, you probably won't even notice we are there during your stay. But if you have any questions, we are always there to help of course!
Houseboat description
When arriving at our quay, you will notice that we're a real houseboat community. A wide variety of ships are docked here, and one of them will be your floating home. From the jetty you step aboard our ship, a former seaworthy vessel built in Hamburg to sail the Baltic Sea, and now serving as our floating home and bed and breakfast.
We personally welcome you aboard and share useful information and answer any question you may have. Time to discover the ship, to start with the wheelhouse, decorated with vintage furniture and a super cool captains chair. Hard to resist not to sit down here and feel what it's like to be a real captain!
Now we descend via the stairs (this one is steep, so not suitable for everyone) to the apartment. Here you will find the double bed on your right hand side, with portholes next to it. On the front of the ship there is a single bed in case you're traveling with three, or in case you wish to sleep apart. The bathroom is very ship-like: small but useful, with a sink, shower and toilet.
There is a compact kitchenette with a sink, refrigerator, water cooker and coffee maker. The breakfast with croissants, meats, cheese, jam, yoghurt and fresh orange juice is included in the price and served to your front door every morning. Note that we do not offer cooking facilities, but who really has the desire to cook when there are so much great restaurants and bars nearby? Just walk onto the quay and you will find several wonderful places to eat and drink within minutes walking.
You have good access into town, making our location attractive for guests who appreciate a good and quiet night rest, as well the proximity of the city centre. By bike you reach the old city within 10 to 15 minutes, and public transport connections are great too. The Eastern part of the old city is about 15 minutes away, and the Western part takes about 30 to 40 minutes, depending on where you want to be.
Our neighborhood has just that little bit extra, at least that what we feel every day: wide panoramic views over the water, no tourist masses and a real sense of connection with other people living here. And last but not least let me say that our waters are just perfect to swim during the summer months. It's clean and fresh for sure, so don't forget to bring your swim wear when honoring us with your visit!
I hope to have given you the best possible impression, but don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions - always glad to help!
PS perhaps needless to say, but we do not allow smoking or any kind of drugs or partying aboard. We have a good relationship with our neighbors and we love to keep it that way. Thanks for understanding!
