Houseboat summary

Our mission is to provide you with the best possible houseboat experience and create everlasting memories. We do this by showing old-fashioned hospitality, serving a delicious European breakfast and providing free bicycles for you to use during your stay. You have access to the large wheelhouse with a view of our harbor and the apartment in the back of the ship. Although my husband and I live aboard the same ship, you probably won't even notice we're there during your stay. But if you have any questions, we are of course always there for you!

Houseboat description

When you arrive at our wharf you will notice that we are a real houseboat community. A wide variety of ships are docked here, and one of them will be your floating home. From the jetty, you will board our ship, a former seaworthy vessel built in Hamburg to build the Baltic Sea and which now serves as our floating home and bed & breakfast.

We personally welcome you on board and share useful information and answer all your questions. Time to discover the ship, starting with the wheelhouse, furnished with vintage furniture and a super cool captain's chair. Hard to resist not sitting here and feeling what it's like to be a real captain!

Now we descend via the stairs (which are steep, so not suitable for everyone) to the apartment. Here you will find gates on your right hand. In the front of the ship is a single bed in case you are traveling with three or want to sleep separately. The bathroom is very ship-like: small but handy, with sink, shower and toilet.

There is a compact kitchenette with a sink, refrigerator, kettle and coffee maker. Breakfast of croissants, cold cuts, cheese, jam, yogurt and fresh orange juice is included in the price and served to your front door every morning. Please note that we do not provide cooking facilities but who really has the desire to cook when there are so many great restaurants and bars around? You just walk onto the quay and within a few minutes'walk you will find various delicious food and beverage outlets.

You have good access to the city, which makes our location attractive to receive good and quiet guests, a good habit of the city center. You can reach the old town within 10 to 15 minutes by bike and the connections with public transport are also excellent. The old town part is about 15 minutes away and the part about 30 to 40 minutes depending on where you want to be.

Our neighborhood has that little bit more, we feel that every day: wide views over the water, no tourist crowds and a real sense of connection with other people who live here. And last but not least I want to say that our waters are just perfect for swimming during the summers. It's definitely clean and fresh, so don't forget to bring your swimsuit if you're honoring us with your visit!

I hope to have given you the best possible impression, but not to ask if you have any questions - always happy to help!

PS maybe needless to say, but smoking of any kind of drugs from parties on board is not allowed. We have a good relationship with our neighbors and we want to keep it that way. Thanks for understanding!

    Wonderful stay Show original

With our grandson Basil, we had a pleasant stay on Coriene and Casper's barge. Everything was perfect: the location (away from the crowd) the accommodation, the breakfast and above all the kindness and the quality of the reception of our hosts. To recommend. We will recommend this Houseboat to our friends! Isabelle, Jean-Claude and Basile

    Very nice Amsterdam houseboat experience

It was a very nice and new experience on the houseboat. The location was great, with the bike you can reach everything in a few minutes and in the evening you can get out of the whole hustle and bustle of Amsterdam in the beautiful quiet location.

Charming houseboat in a quiet location Show original

We stayed there for 2 nights in July 21: Super quiet location, very delicious and lovingly prepared breakfast, 3 good beds, bathroom tiny without a sink, but it's a very old boat from 1937, everything was clean, very nice hosts. You can easily take the two bicycles along tram 19 to the center. Too far on foot, 3 km to the train station. Everything easy by bike. Nice flair in the middle of other old boats, bar nearby, also the smallest brewery in Amsterdam krux. You can sit in the captain's cabin to eat and watch. It's a special experience that suits Amsterdam. Be careful, steep stairs. Thanks to Coriene and her husband, 5 points, gladly!
