Little Nelly - waterfront view and roof terrace!

I am so lucky to live on a traditional Dutch cargo ship, built in 1911. A real grand steel lady that used to transport goods all through Europe and now found her final destination in the oldest harbor of Amsterdam. The ship is completely renovated and i made a separate apartment aboard to host you as my appreciated guest.

My ship is docked on the outer side of a row of houseboats that are docked along each other. This means that you have to walk over other boats to reach your place, Amsterdam style.

The good news is that you have the most wonderful view over the water: on your far left you see the majestic Central Station, in front of you the iconic floating Chinese restaurant and amazing new architecture and on your right you see the magnificent Nemo Science Museum and the Maritime Museum. And while enjoying this view, swans, ducks and many boats will pass by. I personally think it's one of the best views in town - especially from the wheelhouse, that is the entrance to your apartment. 

From the wheelhouse you descent to the apartment, with lots of nautical elements still preserved. The bathroom for example has to be entered through the original steel waterproof door. Also we have some nice portholes in the living room. You will be sleeping under the wheelhouse, with the chain of the steering wheel still visible above you: unique, cozy and secluded. 

The many large windows let in lots of daylight and give you a perfect view over the harbor. 

During your stay I have a water cooker, coffee maker, microwave and fridge available. 

And last but not least you have access to the roof terrace. No better place to sit back and relax, making new plans for the day and experience what it's like to be a local houseboat owner!

The location is super central. From Central Station it's only a few minutes walking before you reach our harbor. This is a surprisingly quiet and relaxed area compared to the buzzing red light district, Waterloo Square and Dam Square that are just around the corner. So wherever you want to go: it's easy to get there and when getting back you are assured to find a safe haven.
