We had one chance to build our dream boat. And we did. We hope you like the result, and perhaps we'll be so fortunate to welcome you aboard during our holiday and share the fun of living on our concrete Warship from 1943. With two double beds, a child bed and a cot, this is the perfect family houseboat, also for couples traveling together. Please note this is not a party boat - so no drugs or smoking allowed on board.
We recently completely renovated this WWII concrete warship and turned it into our dream boat. The 6,6 meters wide sliding doors gives an amazing view over the water, the terrace is a playground for young and old during summer and the floor heating is very comfortable in the colder season. Not to mention the brilliant Bullerjan stove, huge bath, double shower, massive curved Samsung TV, BBQ and fully equipped kitchen.

How to get there
The houseboat is easy to reach from both Amsterdam Amstel (15 minutes from Schiphol Airport) and Amsterdam Central Station (20 minutes from Schiphol Airport). Just take a tram or bus and you will be at the boat within 15 minutes. A Park & Ride parking lot is located at just 5 minutes driving away.
About the area
The Eastern Docks are the best kept secret of Amsterdam: close to the centre, but away from the noisy masses. And we have great architecture. Very kids-friendly with lots of play grounds within walking distance.
Juul and Iris are houseboaters and simply love living on the water. With their experience in mind they have built 'the perfect houseboat', to share the experience of being in touch with nature and yet enjoy the comfort of a modern life style.

Highlight of the Trip!Big thanks to our host, Juul, for helping us have an excellent holiday in Amsterdam. We travelled from Canada as a group of 4 and had no problem getting to the boat and oriented. The houseboat itself is chic and very large. It was well equipped for a group our size: spacious bedrooms & bathrooms downstairs and a wide open communal space with a formidable kitchen upstairs. The neighborhood is beautiful, family friendly and close to great restaurants and shops. We visited in Summer and the patio was a wonderfully relaxing place to hang out during nicer weather. Downtown adventures like Leidseplein Square and Amsterdam Centraal are close by and just a short ride on public transit. Can't get closer to paradise than this! I hope to return some lucky day.

we had a wonderful stay on the boat. We found it quiet and relaxing. Close enough to get an Uber in and out of Amsterdam.
Very much enjoyed thank you

Amazing houseboat for families
We have been so fortunate to stay on this awesome houseboat while the owners were away. The design is truly amazing and its history is astonishing: this used to be a transport vessel during WWII. You can still see the steel pipes used to pump diesel in and out of the ship. The bedrooms are located on the lower floor and they are perfect for families. One large master bedroom and two bedrooms for the kids. Amsterdam East is a well kept secret: nice and quiet yet close to public transport that brings you into town in about 10 minutes. And not to mention the super nice floor heating and superb wood stove 'Bullerjan' that makes your stay just unforgettable. The amenities are just top notch - fantastic value for money!
