This beautiful houseboat with air-conditioning is the perfect way to have the authentic Amsterdam experience at its very best! Located in the historic Jordaan; a peaceful and friendly neighborhood, this recently renovated studio space is docked right in the middle of the city center!

Location
Just 15 minutes from Central Station on foot of the Anne Frank house, Dam Square, the Leidseplein and countless other points of interest are all within walking distance. You'll find plenty of local restaurants, bars and cafés in every direction, and a charming shopping street with both a regular and a biological supermarket are just around the corner.

Fitness
For those who like to stay in shape on vacation, an extensive health club is just across the street offering modern fitness machines, weights, a sauna, squash courts and more. If you're staying with us on a Saturday, make sure you stroll over to the local neighborhood market where you'll find a selection of fresh products, plants, fabrics and more.

Houseboat description

When my co-host can not be there when you arrive you will find the key to the front door in the key-lock. The code will be provided the day you arrive or the day before that.

Kitchen
You'll instantly feel at home the moment you enter the surprisingly large space which was renovated in 2020. You'll immediately notice the modern open kitchen, complete with oven, induction stove, dishwasher and microwave oven.

Living
The large dining room table by the window offers a fantastic and relaxing view of life on the water; and whether you're enjoying a meal here or having a coffee out on the deck, expect a daily visit from swans, ducks and other waterfowl hoping you'll share some vegetables with them. Please do not feed them bread.

You can use the Wi-Fi or enjoy the digital tv as you sit on the comfortable couch.

In the back of the living area, you'll find a modern washroom complete with shower, sink, washer and dryer, with a separate entrance to the toilet (w.c.). Next to this washroom you'll find the separate bedroom. 

Within minutes you'll know you made the right decision when you chose to spend your vacation on this home-away-from-home houseboat. 

The houseboat offers a separate bedroom.

House rules:

  • Smoking is prohibited inside the boat.
  • It is not allowed to bring other guests onto the boat and it is available to rent for a maximum of two guests.
  • This means no parties and we ask you to respect our neighbors.

How to get there

A short walk of around 8 - 10 minutes from Central Station takes you to the houseboat. Easy enough. We will provide the exact route after the booking has been confirmed.

About the area

The houseboat is located in a quiet area with lots of families living on houseboat. So you will be truly part of the local houseboat community. On one side of the water the buzzing Jordaan area starts, and on the back side of our street you will see the wide open water of the IJ-river. Just a wonderful area to stroll around and enjoy yourself watching the ships pass by.

    Best Canal Houseboat Rental Ever!

    It was a wonderful experience to stay at Lilian's canal houseboat. The floating front porch was a great way to watch the small canal boats glide by towards the city center. It was nice to have that personal touch by staying in someone's house, which has a great open area with lots of room to lounge and enjoy canal life. The location is perfect, a 10 minute walk to the train station, on a quiet street in a chill neighborhood. There are many places to see within walking distance, but remember that you can also ride a bicycle to all of the places in Amsterdam. We are already looking forward to our next visit to this amazing place in one of our favorite cities in the world.

    Last weekend we‘ve stayed on Lilians beautiful houseboat; it was a once in a lifetime experience! It was clean and comfy… I would do it again immediately.

    King's Day fun

    Stayed over the weekend of King's Day 2024 and everything was perfect, great communication beforehand and on arrival day, easy lockbox entry and spacious accommodation a 5 minute walk from shops, bars etc on a quiet but central canal. Outside terrace was most welcome and a lovely place to sit in the sun. Most cupboards were full so storage was tight but to be expected in somewhere lived in most of the time. Would definitely stay again.

    We had such a wonderful time on Lilian’s house boat. It is in the perfect location and we couldn’t have had a lovelier time. We would definitely return!
